I’m resigned to the fact that my phone can’t ID my face when I’m wearing my CPAP. It just feels like piling on because I didn’t want to get on the phone then anyway.
Did the mask-wearing era of Covid mess up phone face recognition?
The iPhone’s facial recognition is designed to work while wearing a mask, that was added during the height of COVID. I just tested mine and it opened fine while wearing a mask.
No clue about other brands.
Yep- or Major rock star comes out with stunning announcement!!! Just give us the damn name.
Okay let us say I am watching something on Sundance, one of my faves- if it is “On Demand” you cant fast forward thru commercials- okay, fine.
But then they run ads for this specialized Horror cable channel, and I dont want to watch horrible horror stuff. Same with some broadcast and other channels.
Iswydt - lol!
I was wondering if this was intentional or Gaudere striking again.
My car has facial recognition and it should recognize me as “madame” sans glasses or “incognito” wearing sun glasses. But most of the time it just says “hey you”
…and of course, all thirteen of you will be speaking directly to the bonehead who decided that that’s the way the restaurant will be divulging their prices, right?
Right?
The sign on the express lane at the supermarket must drive you MAD…*

WHO should catch these errors, SVP.
Yes, which is why I avoid the express lane at all costs.
Well, the sunglasses are doing their job, then, aren’t they?
Yesterday, I noticed a maggot crawling across my floor, and when I looked closer, I found hundreds of them. Sure enough, they were coming from my kitchen trash, which was less than 1/2 full. Disgusting and embarrassing. I don’t generate much trash, so I have to be careful not to let it go over 5 days if there is any garbage in the trash. My girlfriend was giving me an ass chewing about the bugs, so I explained to her that it was my fault, and then I explained the life cycle of a fly, which will have maggots crawling out of my trash can 5 days after food is thrown in there. I also explained how I will avoid it in the future , She never listened to a word I said and just kept going on about the bugs. It really pissed me off that she never seems to listen to anything. I don’t know why little things like this bother me so much but I was honestly ready to dump her. Still thinking about it because it an on going problem. My dad was just the opposite, my mother never listened to him even though he was very logical and it didn’t seem to bother him a bit.
Maybe think about taking the trash out every FOUR days?
Or getting a trash can with a lid?
Speaking of taking out the kitchen trash, I’m apparently the only person in the house who knows how to do this. Thursday evening I noticed it was close to full, and almost took it out since Friday is our trash pickup day. But I said “Screw it, I’m going to wait and see if anyone else bothers to take it out.” And of couse I wound up taking it out Saturday morning when it was so jam-packed nothing else would fit in. Grrr.
And/or a smaller trash can. I can’t figure out how a normal kitchen- sized trash can that apparently also includes food waste can be half-full after 5 days. I empty my kitchen trash about once a week but we have mandatory composting and the kitchen container ( about 2 gallons) gets emptied every other day or so. Compost is picked up once a week and I’ve never seen maggots around the covered outside compost can.
Note to self: don’t read this thread while eating lunch.
Getting ahold of a manager live of the phone is not an easy task.
I did send that pizza place an IM.
Mine often is. It’s quite possible, especially if there’s only one or two people in the household.
Cook mostly from scratch because you’re too broke, or possibly too stubborn, to do otherwise, keep a compost pile (which not all food waste is supposed to go into, especially if you’re not vegetarian), and recycle.
(It is possible to compost meat waste; or even entire carcasses; but most people’s home composting setup isn’t up to it.)
IME, the compost bucket itself needs to be washed out at least once a week in order to prevent fly eggs from reaching the maggot stage, even if said bucket has a lid on it.
I’ve seen that headline too. My reaction was that the story shouldn’t be about the broadcaster, it should be about the ACTUAL TRAGEDY.
