Things That You Would Really Like To Know That Are None Of Your Mollyfocking Business?

A long time ago, I worked with a married couple. The wife was having an affair with another supervisor there. The husband found out about it; they nearly divorced, but didn’t… when she discovered she was pregnant. They reconciled and went on to have two more kids after that. (They already had a child when she conceived the second one.)

I still want to know if the affair guy is that second baby’s father. I think he is, based on what I know of that child’s looks and personality now. She looks just like him and not at all like her dad or her mom.

But yeah. Totally irrelevant to my life and none of my business.

I want to know how my unemployed friend can afford to live in an apartment where the rent is higher than I can afford on my fairly decent salary. I know almost everything about her, so I’m pretty sure she’s nobody’s mistress or anything like that.

They do say what people died of, at least around here. My understanding is that if they don’t list the cause of death, it’s generally suicide or a drug overdose (especially in young people), or the family is in ongoing litigation of some type of which the death is involved (e.g., malpractice).

Two things that are absolutely none of my business but I’m still curious:

Two friends of mine married each other. They left for their honeymoon. They got to their hotel, were there for a couple of hours, the female friend left and filed for divorce.

Heh. Reminds me of a similar story that happened to a friend’s father (a lawyer). LawyerDad is the best man in his buddy’s wedding. Newlyweds go off to the Bahamas or whatever for the honeymoon. The following morning Lawyerdad’s phone rings. “LawyerDad, draw up the papers! I’m done with this bitch!”

One can only imagine…

I want to know, of many of the good jobs that I really tried for, how many I came close to getting but didn’t & specifically why.

I want to know why a certain college ‘wait listed’ me and what I could have done differently to prevent that.

I want to know why certain friends from HS & college turned their backs on me over the years and if there was/is anything I could have done differently to prevent it.

Probably the whole story behind Amelia Earhart’s disappearance and death and also the JFK assassination – which, being a citizen, is my business, but I wasn’t alive at the time.

A coworker of mine, commonly called Crazy Fat Guy. He’s seriously mental, and barely functioning; if it weren’t for having seniority in a union factory I’m sure he’d be homeless as no one else would hire him. He’s a many-flavored nutbag, thinks that doctors and Big Pharma are all a big conspiracy, as are banks and mortgage companies, charities and 9/11 and pretty much any wild-assed theory. He’s got some peculiar religious beliefs that seem to boil down to not being religious in any obvious way or going to church, just thinking that anything considered bad by any religion is, indeed, sinful and bad. Sex, drugs, rock and roll, computers, you name it, all sinful and bad.

So, he’s single and doesn’t date, no computer or cell phone or cable television, no gambling, no kids, nothing extravagant in his lifestyle…what does he spend his money on? He’s always broke and moaning about what things cost, basic stuff like food and utilities, but he makes a damn decent living for a single uneducated guy living a no-frills lifestyle so where does the money actually go?

The rest of us have pondered this for years and anytime one of us has a theory, maybe it’s gambling or pay per view porn or an extensive gun collection or something, it always comes out that he doesn’t do/have that thing. I’d love to know how he can be so broke when he doesn’t appear to spend money on anything.

I’d like to know who Trig Palin’s biological mother is.

I want to know who sired Michael Jackson’s kids.

When I hear that somebody is pregnant, I want to know if it was planned or not.

I want to know why this guy just shot out of here like a bat out of hell. He was doing his marketing thing, telling me about the program he represents, then just got up and said “nice meeting you” and left very suddenly. He left the freebies and brochures on the floor, for heaven’s sake.

I swear, I didn’t fart or make a pass. I even checked to make sure my pants are zipped.

I have this same quandry myself. I never will, barring some sort of freakish miracle wind or something, but good goddamn I’d sure like to.

Other than that, I think knowing my co-workers salaries would suffice.

Hookers.

I work in the same building as the town police and I have the most updated property records, so they will often come in and ask who owns what property and then hurry off in a big important hurry.

I always wonder what was going on in the house they’re watching, did they arrest anyone, and what they found.

Did Pat Sajak and Vanna White ever do each other? Ditto George W. Bush and Condi Rice. What does Kaley Cuoco look like topless? Why doesn’t the Man vs. Food dude weigh about 600 lbs? What does George HW Bush really think about his son’s presidency?

Ditto the one about Charlie and Harry. I often wonder if the Royal Postman had red hair.

I want the details on the finances of other families. I constantly scrimp and save and we do end up sort of ahead but we’re making damn good money and living on the cheap. How do these people afford their fancy cars and houses and clothes? They seem to have a near infnite supply of cash. Are they just up their ears in debt?

Yup. Also I’ve seen it said that a very large percentage of luxury cars are actually just leased and not purchased.

Me too. If you look up a picture of Michael Jackson as a kid (before all the cosmetic alterations) it becomes plainly obvious that none of his kids bear even the slightest resemblance to him. Heck, one or two of them are white. Not just light-skinned, but white. I’d love to know what the biological parentage of those children is.

A friend of the family was commenting that one of the kids had spilled something on the oriental rug…but at least it was the small one, only $20K. Ummm, that’s more then I make in mortgage payments in a year…and you spent it on a rug? They have a beautiful house, nice cars, decked out theater in the basement etc. They certainly live like rich people, but FCS she’s a part time social worker (who spent about 3 of the last five years out of work due to an illness) and he’s a dentist. I’m sure they’re doing ok, but I can’t believe they’re raking in millions. I have to wonder if at least one of them is a trust fund baby.

I have Set Theory. Would you like to borrow it?
