Things to do tonight...Help!

Well, it’s Saturday night once again. And nothing to do. My friends are busy, they all seem to have plans. Last night, I decided to take a nap and then get dinner, but ended up sleeping until about 10:00 this morning. Okay, I fell back asleep and didn’t get up til noon. So what? I’m depressed and my meds don’t help all that much. But I don’t want to do it again tonight. So, can someone tell me something fun to do in L.A. that involves not staying at home and that is okay to do by yourself? I’m still relatively new here, too, so it’s not all that easy to figure it out on my own. I think this belongs in MPSIMS. If not, sorry!!!

Anything is OK to do by yourself (well, almost)…it depends on your comfort level. Can you pretend you’re a business visitor to the city, & do what someone bored, not knowing anybody, yet adventurous would do? Or just go where there’s live music, or some kind of educational event like at a museum? Do you just want to get out, or do you want to meet folks?

I have a friend, Megan, who used to be a model. She is fantastically gorgeous, very bright, & sort of eccentric. She often goes out to eat, or to bars & stuff alone. She always brings a book along, & enjoys herself either way.

I don’t know LA, so I can’t help you there!

When I lived in Denver, I would occasionally go to a local and good mexican food restaurant. I’d take a book I was studying and enjoy it.

I once went on Valentines Day, not realizing it till some people were celebrating with their kids. I brushed it off.

You could always go see a movie.

Other than that I think those are the “safest” alternatives for a single woman living alone in a big city. Although, there are “family” places you can go. In Denver they have the Family Sports Center (ask Mr. Cynical, he used to practically live there during the week when he worked near by.) That type of place would allow you to go eat and watch the kids skate or even skate yourself.

It is a place where they have a bar and grill, video gaming area, laser tag, several skating rinks etc…also that’s where our Colorado Avalanche practice. I am sure there’s something like that in LA.
