Things To Do While Home Bound

Ours too. I had a big bag of jigsaw puzzles I was going to donate. I put them on the curb with a sign saying “Free” They were all gone in 2 hours.

Windows. Sigh. On the list.
I decided to clean out the cabinet under the sink. Found some strange brown sand all over the place. Called the man in to look. HOLY FUCK. The porcelain ceramic sink is severely cracked, I mean a big assed crack. We just redid our only bath which meant moving out for a month and boarding my cats for a month. Now this. Sigh. At least we can stay home and eat takeout. Or micro-dinners.
We turned the mattress. And managed not to kill each other. It was a big deal.
I have to start shredding 40 some years of paperwork from my landlording days. And researching what I have to save.
Culled the closets, more to come. Seriously, I WORE those shoes??
Every nite I make a list. Maybe 1 gets done. I mean, what’s the hurry?

Clean up this unholy mess of a condo. Last few weeks I’ve been hoarding, it seems.

I still work at home, but without sports and bars, there’s plenty of time.

Other than that, watch a show with at least 5 seasons. Then another, and another.

Our thrift stores and the Rescue Mission/Salvation Army trailers found in every big grocery store parking lot are closed.

They have implored the public to hold off on just dumping stuff in front of the stores or on the trailer deck. There is no one to handle the stuff, and some idiots are just dumping bags of trash and broken appliances.

Clean out your closets, yes, but bag stuff up and deliver when the all-clear sounds.

Uhhhh…

I’m with you. I haven’t done any other chores except my normal stuff. I’m working from home, but my free time is spent knitting a new sweater, watching tv, reading the book I had saved for the trip I was going to take in June, taking leisurely walks with the dog, and having zoom cocktail hours with my girlfriends.

Tonight at 7 central you can catch a Jorma Kaukonen perormance. He is the guitar player from Hot Tuna and Jefferson Airplane. He runs a guitar teaching camp that also features performances, many live streamed on Youtube. He’s closed down the school and the stage due to covid-19, and I suspect that tonight’s show is just going to be himself all alone in the hall. He plays for a living and has probably got some major cabin fever going. Show in less than 2 hours…

Wow, you people are industrious and productive and shit like that. I’m full of admiration. I need to sit down and rest for a bit…

Maybe tune in to a certain Youtube channel…

Yeah, the backsplash looks great so far if I may say so, considering that I have never tiled anything in my life. Unfortunately when one realizes that one needs a couple of extra things from the hardware store, as often happens the first time one does a project like that, one has to wait for them to arrive in the mail and pray that they are, in fact, the right thing. The grouting will have to wait for a few days until I figure out how to deal with getting the light switches to be flush with the plates…

Ah well, it was actually kind of empowering to realize that I am actually pretty good at doing something like that with no instruction beyond a couple of 5-minute YouTube videos.

I’m with you Thelma. I spent many years perfecting my lazy. I see no reason to change now. (:))
