Things you can do with old shoes

I recently replaced my dear old pair of Converse Skate Slam shoes, and after spending a month (a MONTH) looking for another pair in size fifteen, finally found them this morning.

But then I thought - I’m quite fond of the old shoes, and don’t really want to throw them away. So I created ShoeChucks out of them.

I also made an easy-to-follow cartoon representation of my creative process.

So has anyone else gotten creative with old things like shoes and clothes and whatnot? Or have I created a whole new field of art here?

Take an old cell phone, taken an old shoe… voila.

I burned about 20 old pairs of shoes in a bonfire. They were mostly leather shoes, so it didn’t turn into a 20-year-tire-fire incident.

I still use one of the Bus Kids old baby shoes as a change purse in the car. It’s the right size, it’s got a non-skid bottom so it doesn’t slide around in the console, and the tongue makes a handy little flap to keep coins contained.
