I keep a pair of worn out shoes by the door that all I have to do is slip them on (no tieing or buckleing) and I’m out the door. Yes they look like crap but thats ok.
So do you call keep a pair of shoes, boots, sandles, or slippers that you can easily slip on or off handy and be out the door?
Me, too. With dogs, I sometimes have to run outside quickly and I tend to go barefoot in the house. Mine are some of those old canvas lace-on sneakers that cost $5 at Payless. I’ve taken the laces out of the last two grommets, so I can slip them on quickly.
Yes, slip on Keds style loafers. Just for quicks hops to the store and such, though. They don’t support my feet well so I never wear them for more than a few minutes.
I have several, depending on season. Rainy season gets different shoes than Summer. It’s also too much of a bother to put on “real” shoes if I’m just going to pick the kids up from school.
If I were in a house with a yard and/or garage, I would for sure. But I’m in an apartment. I wear slippers all the time on the hardwood floors, but if I’m going to hit the sidewalk I’ve got decent shoes on. If I’m doing laundry (outside basement entrance) I don’t tie them.
Yes I do. I keep a pair of old sneakers in the utility room. I leave them tied loosely enough so that I can step into them like slippers and then I’m good to go. Ideal for small tasks like rolling the trash to the street, etc.
That’s the only kind of shoes I wear… black sneakers for non-work and weekend-work wear that I can shove my feet into without having to pull them on, a pair of dressier pull-on low boots for work, and a pair of engineer’s boots for winter.
I work at home, so I’m usually barefoot from April to October. I keep a pair of Crocs by the door to take out the trash or hop across the street to the mini-market.
I have a beat to hell pair of these Merrel Jungle Mocs. The soles are worn through to the rubber underneath but they are still comfortable and slip on really easy.
My husband has a ratty old pair of boat shoes by the door for when he takes the dog out. I have some ancient raggedy loafers in my closet and an old pair of sneaks in the garage when I have grubby chores to do, but nothing immediately available. Then again, I keep my shoes on till I go to bed. I don’t like being barefoot.
Yes. I have three pairs of shoes, each dedicated to a usage.
Throw-on Reeeboks, bought for a dollar at a thrift shop, with velcro closure. For outdoor use within my apartment complex, like going to get the mail or take out the trash.
Rockport Prowalkers, free, somebody threw them out by the dumpster on moving day. I wear them when going anywhere in a private car (which is rare), where I only need to walk from the parking lot to the venue.
Herman industrial workboots, all other outdoor uses, including travel, using public transport, or walking more than a couple of blocks. I buy them new at WalMart when I wear them out. When traveling, they are the only shoes I take along.
Usually it’s an old pair of dress shoes with the heel so broken in I can slip right into it without a moment lost and they are good for most everywhere I go save work.
I have a pair of ‘driving shoes’ I keep in the car so my nice dress shoes don’t get worn down. they’re slingback wedges that should really be tossed out already.
