Here’s something I don’t like: the rule that if there’s any thread that discusses what people don’t like, it has to go in The Pit. It’s actually possible to have a civil conversation about things you don’t like, but such threads always get relocated to The Pit, where it invariably become a free-for-all.

I actually think a thread like this has to be in the Pit. I’m not sure a civil discussion could be had when you’re talking about things you don’t like about the board itself; some posts are going to hit a little too close to home and provoke responses, and in any other forum it’s just going to get messy.

Seriously? The lack of a pukey smilie is one of the things I like the most about the SDMB. That and the lack of avatars, blinking sigs, dancing penises, and dancing bananas.
One additional point… there are some here that won’t apologize when shown in even the smallest error. Despite if it was instituted in the Constitution/commanded by the deity of their choice/proven to save their life and that of their loved ones. They usual just devolve into a pedantic ( 
) argument to refuse saying “sorry.” Does it diminish someone some way by doing so? If that’s correct, then no wonder I’m a non-entity. Mea culpa.

I’m not saying that I personally hate the US-I don’t, the very opposite, in fact. But these things are NOT representative of democracy, and they are a black stain on our nation’s history.
Now, back on topic. The things I don’t like? I’d say most of them are technical-I don’t like how the server lags. (Considering that I’ve visited boards that are way busier and we don’t have to pay and they don’t perform as poorly as this one). I also hate that the search was extended to 2 minutes.

Yes, I’ve seen the online version more recently than the real life variety. :o But as to the bouncing testicles (that would be such an awesome band name), I guess I was paying more attention to the point [ ::: ahem ::: ] that was being made.

There is no such thing as a person who dislikes Bush and doesn’t agree with Redfury about absolutely everything. No way, no how. Doesn’t exist. Can’t exist. And that, to bring this back on topic, is one thing I dislike about the SDMB these days: the unremitting, rampant, knee-jerk hatred in the political threads. Even now, when virtually everybody agrees that Bush is at best an incompetent fool, people just refuse to find the common ground that is clearly there to be found, instead poisoning thread after thread.
