Things you genuinely like, but don't get what all the fuss is about

Scotch. I drink and enjoy scotch, but I don’t get the obsessing over it; especially the single malt varieties.

Joss Whedon shows in general for me. They’re good, but not great, and Whedonesque dialogue gets annoying pretty quickly.

The Big Bang Theory. It’s okay, I’ll watch it when coworkers bring the DVDs in for lunch break, and I like the gratuitous cleavage shots of Penny, but it’s not overly good, and I find I don’t really care about the characters (unlike, say, How I Met Your Mother, which can have weak episodes, but I find that I care about the what happens to the characters).

In baseball, the high regard a lot of sabrmetric people and sportswriters (Jon Heyman of “Sports Illustrated” at the top) have for Bobby Valentine. He’s better than average but these guys will constantly pine for him to get rehired by the Mets or any team with an opening. They underestimate how high the Mets payroll was when he managed, certainly higher than the Braves/Bobby Cox who constantly beat him.
