Things you remember but don't remember the name of.

This sounds a lot like the Little House episode “Rage” (season 9, episode 4) with guest star Robert Loggia. Season 9 had a slightly different title and is sometimes considered a spinoff, so it may not be included in the usual syndication package. You can watch it on Amazon Prime Video. I haven’t watched the whole thing recently but I don’t think he shot himself in the head. He went out with guns blazing and the men surrounding the house shot him. Suicide by posse, I guess.

OK if we’re expanding to books –

I read one, I think about the same time, about which all that I remember is that the Good Guy(s?) were driving across the USA trying to deliver Something Important, I think maybe to the POTUS but am not sure; and were being chased by the Bad Guys. The Good Guy(s) (I can’t remember if there was more than one person in the car, but am pretty sure that the driver was female) managed to elude and escape the Bad Guys and get the Whatever-It-Was where it needed to go in the nick of time – due to the (possibly rather implausible) capabilities of their car, which was a Volvo.

I probably remember this because my car was a Volvo at the time. And that’s about the only thing I remember clearly about it; except that I had fun reading it.

Any ideas?

Looking at the Wikipedia page - Yes, that sounds like the correct movie. I haven’t seen it since the 70s, so I must have added the kids as a cross memory. But there were motorcycles and cultists!

Great film. Typical 70s ending if I recall

Definitely not working anymore.

RWtD singlehandedly made R.G. Armstrong the greatest actor of all time.
Ah yes, that wonderful ending with the coffin-shaped fire-trap.

The final shot is so cool, actually…think I might just start a thread about awesome final film shots.
Yeah so what was that song they did? You know?
It was like, so…right? You know, right?
And everyone there was so KIND, it was so…
But you know which one, right?*

Absolutely this. Thank you!

Oh, the turn of the 21st century!:smack:

there’s this German movie about a young Jewish man who ends up in the German army in the war and he has to hide out and hope no one finds out he’s Jewish. In one scene everyone is naked and showering so he is trying to hide his penis so no one sees he’s Jewish.

another scene I remember is he is visiting an older German woman and she is lamenting about how her daughter has been taken in by Nazi propaganda.

Garak, I’m pretty sure you’re looking for the excellent Europa, Europa, with a young Julia Delpy.

yeah that’s it

thanks
