I got the opposite vibe from that scene, even the control room’s thick bulkheads couldn’t halt the relentless Jedi. Try to see it from the aliens perspective, the Republic was kept together by minute number of superhumans, they trusted Sideous/Palp because they thought they were safe, and now there was one of them not only on your ship, but pushing through even their strongest doors, think how trapped they were, the slow cutting would just add to their terror.
Besides, metal has resisted lightsabres before, just look at Vader’s armour
I always wanted Star Trek The Next Generation to engage in more battles, like versus the klingons, with the people getting tossed around the room more like the original series. It always seemed too staid, with much of the action, in the holodeck, not even really happening.
Also would like to have seen a Star Trek episode encountering life on Mars or Venus.
In Star Wars, I wished Luke’s mom hadn’t been killed.
