I am always open to try new things. Even if I am not receptive to it now, usually down the road a piece if I come across it, I will give it a go.
Gin-Gin’s are my newest obcession/addition. Warming without burning, sweet without rotting my teeth. Can settle a queasy stomach and freshens breath. Even though the ingredients are sucrose, ginger and sugar. $1.99 a bag at Cost World Market Place, where I found them.
I found Ginger Altoids to be almost overpowering. I use to love the Altoid brand, but some some reason the mints of all varieties give me a headache.
Which is a drag as I love the little tin too. (They’ve replaced the Sucret’s box of my yute.)
You can order gin-gins from the above link.
Gin-Gin’s are a smoother taste.
The next time I am at Cost Plus Market Place (I avoid it as much as possible because I love it so much and can easily drop a $20 in there on tea, chocolate and goodies.) I can pick up a bag for you if you like.
I love these things! I discovered them recently, also at a World Market that just opened in my neighborhood. I only bought one bag, but I’ll have to go back soon for more, and maybe pick up some other goodies as well.
I’ll have to think about something to recommend here…
Broadway’s Greatest Gifts: Carols for a Cure. This excellent organization has released a Holiday CD every year since 1999 (the last two were double CD sets). Traditional and new holiday songs sung by various casts of Broadway musicals. Not only is the music great, but the money goes to a very worthy cause. The current tally is 103 songs, including such gems as “The 12 Days of Phantom” “Full Frontal Christmas” and “Little Davey Dinckel.”
These CDS have become the favorites of many people I’ve played them for.
Verjuice. A condiment/ cooking ingredient. It’s unripe grape juice. A substitute for vinegar, lemon juice or wine in cooking. Good for salad dressing or for deglazing roasting pans.
Watch the movie Megiddo; Omega Code 2 it is just a good movie, plain and simple.
Go to a pentecostal black church atleast once, even if you are an athiest you will enjoy the music.
Get in your car and bump some good rap music and if you don’t like it already you will atleast understand why so many people do and why it sounds better loud.
A bose wave radio.
Watch the shows Pimp My Ride and Made on MTV.
I have more but can’t think of them right now, bbs.
Minute Maid’s new light canned drinks, especially Mango Tropical. A canned, cheap and low calorie option to salty, bubbly sodas and a break from water. Still got some sodium in it but I can promise myself one after I get the 2 quarts of water down daily. AND I like the taste. Raspberry is good and Guava is the house fav. $1.99 for an 8-pak at Kroger.
Spot on, Terrorcotta. I’m giving up cold carbonated caffeine as my wake up of choice in the morning, as well as trying to cut calories, and Minute Maid’s been an ogsend. Reminds me - I need to get some more.
Lessee…what’s my entry? SpouseO got me a mandoline for Christmas, with which I’m hoping that I can mince my garlic without a) using a garlic press or b) cutting it up very very fine with my knife and getting my hands all garlicy smelling. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ll be back with results soon. It sure seems nifty.
Ooh! Propel is good, as a water beverage that has some light taste (for those who just can’t drink water straight). I prefer the Black Cherry flavor, tho’ they’re all pretty good. I need to get out to Sam’s, where I can buy it cheaper.
Hot pickled cherry peppers stuffed with a bite size piece of prociutto wrapped aged Gouda. YUM!
You can buy them from Dean and Delucca for about $100/lb or make them yourself at home with ingredients available at any major national grocer.
Just make sure you don’t have any cuts on your fingers when you’re making them up… Ouch!
Coffee Martinis. Two parts ice cold vodka and one part Kahlua. Shaken. Pour over a Hershey’s hug. Bring on the New Year!
I’ll second this. I drove a rental car a couple of weeks ago from Ohio to Texas. It was a lifesaver. No changing CDs or trying to find something besides country and religious programming on the radio. As soon as I buy a car here, I’m getting XM or Sirrius.
