I should also point out that dogs like to stick their head in front of fans. At least, mine do.
I wonder if the ears flapping in the wind is more important than people have mentioned so far. My brother’s dog, a beagle, delights in shaking his head back and forth(we thought he might have mites or another ear problem, but the vet says they’re fine), which makes his ears flap against his head.
I assume he enjoys this feeling a lot, since he did it enough to cause a hematoma(burst blood vessel that causes the ear to inflate with blood) a couple of years ago…fortunately it healed ok.
My friend has a boxer, its ears don’t flap in the wind.
