Think of a British city that isn't London

Since somebody was going to ask this question after this thread, if you exclude London what is the first British city you can think of? (I’m not doing a poll because image the options you’d have to put up.) I’d say Manchester; maybe because I’ve heard a couple of times it’s London’s cultural rival in the UK, maybe it’s “Coronation Street”.

Manchester

Manchester was also the first one I thought of. After that, Liverpool.

Manchester. A good friend lives there.

Oxford. Because Lewis.

Birmingham, second biggest city.

York

Scunthorpe.

Bristol

Liverpool.

Norwich, because it’s the first city in Britain that I ever visited.

Sheffield, because Threads. And I have a friend who lives there.

I’d say Manchester, because my company has an office there and I’m working (from New York) on a project involving that office, and then Edinburgh, because I was there recently (we’re asking about British cities, not English, right? And Scotland is still part of Great Britain until they decide they’re not, which they haven’t yet, right?).

Manchester

Newcastle

Birmingham.

Then “Wainscoting” from the Monty Python skit.

Manchester, because my DIL is from there.

Manchester was also the first city that I thought of.

Leeds (I lived there for 7 years as a child).

Birmingham, almost undoubtedly because it’s the home town of Jeff Lynne and ELO.
