Think of a city in the United States (that isn't New York City)

Indianapolis. Grew up there.

I said Chicago and I live near Columbus. Didn’t even think it would be an option. I used to visit Chicago a lot when I was a kid, though. Never came to Columbus until I was out of college.

San Diego, for no apparent reason other than I’ve been there 3 or 4 times and love it.

My native town: Philadelphia

Nah. The problem is that the title primed me. If it’s not New York, then it must be… and the answer is clearly Chicago. Nevermind that I live in San Jose and have only been to Chicago twice. It’s just that any list where NYC is #1 must have Chicago as #2.

Texas

Palm Springs, Ca., and the surrounding communities. They are definitely small, maybe not even cities, but it’s a great place to escape to before winter hits too hard and in the spring.

In between, when winter is thinking of staying forever, I would pick a coastal city in Mexico. But that’s another thread.
