The inability to edit your own post is a real let down.
I’ve been on pleanty of boards, and I could always edit my own posts, and did so quite often. Although I am sure the Mods (will argue they) have a good reason for not allowing it, I think all things considered, it should be available. Speaking of mods,
The mods don’t do a good job. They are too damn slow to respond. Before you cry about not being in front of your monitory 24/7, the traffic on the boards, or any other lame excuese you can come up with, think about this. Its you responsibility to make moderate/administrate the board as best you can. If your not doing that, then I think it’s fair to say you suck. If you can’t do that, get more/better mods.

There are far too many people on the board for any kind of actuall “debate” to take place where there is a real exchange of ideas. All you can do is flame.

I can see the responses now, “If you don’t like it leave, you suck anyway Compound” Well, firstly, I said the boards suck, yes, but I didn’t say they TOTALY suck, which would be a different thing. I can post a question and get a response by someone in a fairly timely manner, and that part is way cool. No thanks to the mods or the majority of the people here though. Secondly, I don’t mind flaming at all, nor do I mind being flamed. But I can also have a real debate, and I prefer that (most of the time).
I guess what I am saying is this board sucks because I have no desire to write anything intelligent or even dedicate any critical thought tho 99.9986848384484 and 1/2 the garbage posted here. I don’t even fu(k1n9 bother with a spell checker for chissakes! All I can do is ask questions.

Where do I start?

The mods have lots to do around here, I am sure that they will stop by soon to clean this little mess up so I’ll get my thoughts out.

There is no edit because it takes up bandwidth which is in short supply due to turds spouting crap about how bad this board sucks yet still manage to rack up an amazing number of posts. Even if you had lurked for a week before regestering, you would still not be able to comprehend the amazing number of eloquent and intelligent people here (Im not one of them FTR, well at least not eloquent)
And that there is a large number of members that are not active, in fact there are quite a few that posted a few times then havent for months.

If you want a post edited, e-mail a Mod and they would be happy to do so for you at their earliest convienience.

I’ve always found that the little button labeled “Preview Reply” works very much like the ‘edit’ function on other boards. You just have to be smart enough to use it before you click “Submit Reply.” Or, is that beyond your intellectual capacity?

Compound, I’ll try to respond intelligently to what you’ve stated. First, you get out of this board what you put in. If you refuse to look for the intelligent debates and if you refuse to put even a modicum of critical thinking into your own posts, you won’t get anything out of it. In fact, we shouldn’t bother responding civilly to someone who can’t bother to respect his own posts, let alone someone elses.

Now, you want to edit your posts? I say you should have taken more time before pressing that little button down below to make sure your words were effectively communicated. If they weren’t, then hey, you still have the chance to push the reply button again and try a second time.

Third, for someone who encourages flames you sure aren’t taking people’s responses too well.

Fourth, I’m finally listening to Dave Matthew’s Band’s new CD. It’s pretty good. Back to the topic…

If you don’t like a topic, ignore it. Don’t care what your favorite commercial is? Ignore it. Don’t give a rats ass what Survivor is up to these days? Ignore it. You want intelligent debate? Hang around GD for awhile. Roaming around the pit for Mensa posts is like groping through the garbage cans in search of a discarded Picasso.

On the topic of mods. Besides the fact that they’re doing this for no money, no fame, no glory, and apparently no gratitude, they still come here day in and day out to do what they can to make the board run smoothly. Without them, you can guarantee with 99.999999999% certainty that this board would be reduced to spam and trolls. But at any point while writing your non-edited post, did you notice the contradiction you wrote? Apparently the board is too large to carry on a debate but not too large that mods should snap right to each and every problem the moment they exist.

Finally, with 10 posts to your name, half of those in this thread complaining, it seems as if you haven’t even given a quarter-assed attempt at intelligent discussion.

This response is probably more time consuming than you’re worth, but I’m trying to give you the benefit of the doubt here.
