Not bad. He flubs a couple notes and his timing and phrasing is off a little here and there (in the studio, I would have him punch in in a couple of places), but, overall, he’d pass the audition.

It’s been a long time since I’ve heard much Maiden and I thought you were ragging on the guy for blowing a lyric. Thanks for letting me off the hook. 
Could he be teching up his voice a bit?
He’s phenomenal. Screw getting in shape. Ruben Studdard got a record deal, so can this guy.
I doubt it. To me, it looks 100% legit, especially since there are a couple rough edges in there. Other than a bit of reverb and perhaps a touch of compression, I don’t hear any major technical trickery happening there. (ETA: Although in the other thread, Crotalus appears to hear a lot more processing At any rate, I’m convinced the take itself is raw and unedited.)
