THIS is how you protest an illegally parked car

Man parks illegally in a handicapped parking spot and calls police on himself

Umm…can someone explain to what the hell point this guy was trying to make?

Seems to me that’s *exactly *what they were doing…

Seems we’re having pre-screenings for Darwin awards now.

ROFLes! :pwnt:

Did you see the pict? He was sobbing like the little bitch he is. Wonder if they checked his BAC.

Maybe he’s part of SDMB, been reading the handicapped parking thread and seeing all the “just call the police” replies. He then decided to test that theory.

According to the story, he had to call a **dozen **times. So much for “just call the police”. I guess a lot of people on here owe JamieMcGarry an apology.

That guy looks (and reads) like a person with a more than average share of personal demons. Hope he gets some help (presuming it wasn’t just one night of odd intoxication.)

Well, he looks like he’s really sorry for what he did. Or really constipated.

Or both.

Are you reading a different version of the story than the one linked? I don’t see any mention of the guy calling the police repeatedly, just that the police received a call from him around 2:00 am.

Washington Post.

Seconded. There’s criminal behavior, there’s attention-whoring, and then…there’s stuff like this that’s so bizarre you’ve pretty much got to beleve he’s not experiencing the world in quite the same way as anyone else.

Aha! Thanks.

But it sounds like he was a little goony right from the get-go:

So he may have had to call 12 times, not because the police don’t care about parking in handicapped spots, but because they thought he was a nut.

I think he’s upset that he wasn’t in NYC with the woman in the red dress in the rain…

I’d cry too.

Did he not have a permit? Or did he have one and just not display it?

That photo of the man is priceless.

I sincerely hope he gets a mental health evaluation…

Here’s one: he’s fuckin’ nuts.

It doesn’t sound as if Andes himself is handicapped. At least, not physically.

He just really, really cares a lot about parking enforcement.

No? Well, I hope at least somebody blocked him in until the cops arrived.
