heh. I saw a comedian/juggler once who said he used to juggle with kittens, but it was hard because they hold on to your hand. “No, no, really, I love kittens. I’ve had hundreds of kittens…”
I need a whole package - the tricks are amazing - but when they look clumsy and awkard through the dance parts of floor - then you might as well just string together an bunch of runs - and make floor like vault.

That’s the way the men do it. Men actually have to stick their floor exercise landings rather than being allowed to take a step back. Clumsy and awkward isn’t acceptable, but the dancing is just pagentry and it doesn’t belong in an olympic sport IMO. Womens gymnastics is way too much about pagentry.

Having spent time as a framer, this just blows me away.
You have to wonder just how bored you have to be to take your juggling to " Hey, lets juggle hammers." and then when that thrill wears off, you take it up a notch.

If THIS is what they showed during the Olympics I think more and more people would be all over that. But instead we get the ribbon crap.
I am sorry to all gymnasts out there, but dancing around with a ribbon looks like something a 5 year old girl should be doing. It just looks stupid. Things like this however capture our attention cuz it’s something we couldn’t do.
I am not saying I can just jump into a floor routine with a ribbon and win gold, but I can certainly watch the tv and think “Yeah…not that hard”. The ball thing on the other hand, I watch that and think “HOLY SHIT! THATS AWESOME” and the fact that I couldn’t even get CLOSE to doing something like that makes it so much more impressive.
