This is just so aggravating...

I got a MySpace message from someone named Nikki requesting information and a price for my band to play her wedding reception. OK, no problem. I click reply, type my message with lots of information about my band, price, what we provide, etc. and click Send.

*Nikki’s profile is private, you can only send her a message if you’re her friend. *

OK. I click on Nikki’s picture to go to her page and click the Friend request button.

Nikki doesn’t accept friend requests from bands.

I don’t have a personal MySpace page, nor do I want one.

So, here’s a potential gig for my group and yet I can’t respond to her query. I’m so annoyed.

But I’m willing to take advice. Anyone know of a way I can let Nikki know to contact me via e-mail or should I just chalk this up to “win some, lose some”?

Well, Nikki had to look at your profile page to find your band, right? So post a message for her somewhere on the page and eventually she’ll check back to find out why you haven’t contacted her. That’s all I got…

Or have a friend with a personal page drop her a line.

Of course, you know that somewhere Nikki is complaining about that band that couldn’t be bothered to reply to her message about playing at her wedding reception.

I know, the little twerp.

I’ll try the putting a message for her on my page and if that doesn’t work I’ll have one of my MySpace friends contact her.

I’m still annoyed. Mondays, Bah!

Find some way to get her your phone number. Then she can call you and leave you this message:

“Um… Hi… Um… My name is Nikki Mphphffrf. I was calling about, you know, like, your band and stuff, and I was wondering if you could play at our function. It’s going to be at Flurfndff’s Pfengtorjdo on Octvembuary the flurmteenth at slorp thirty. So, uh… If you could give me a call… at… uh… let’s see here… Oh wait, that date’s wrong, it’s going to be in Septoberune the fleeeemth, and, uh… Yeah. Anyhoo, so, yeah, ummmmmmm… Give me a call, yada yada, honey, what’s for dinner? Oh, barbiturates, my fave! Yummy! So here’s my number, coming up, I’m about to say it right now. Are you ready? So… OK, here it is… It’s fivefourtwoonefloorblluesnoreteen.”
