This week was a good episode of “This Is Us”. And there was a quote that I can’t stop thinking about. It’s when Randall was asking Beth to marry him - “And I don’t want to do life without you.”
Is there any possible way to find out which writer in Hollywood (or wherever) wrote that line?
It felt out of place to me. Took me out of the episode because it was a flashback, and “do life” sounds like 2019 shorthand. Back then, especially when someone was being serious*, they would’ve said “And I don’t want to live life without you” or “And I don’t want to experience life without you.”
*a proposal is no time to be using cutesy slang, especially someone as serious as Randall.
That’s true, perhaps that’s why it stuck out to me so much. Anachronistic or not, I still think it’s a great line.
And yeah, the writers are listed, but I was wondering if it was possible to find out which specific writer wrote that line. No biggie, was just a question I had on a boring Friday night
