THIS IS WAR DAMMIT

  1. In the MILITARY.
  2. Never implied that I was in Vietnam… NEVER, NOT ONCE.
  3. I had a desk, yes, but I was outside most of the day.
  4. The ‘vietnam conflict’ was a police action and most of our guys were finally pulled out in the fall of 1975/spring of 1976. We still have POWs there.
  5. Jan 75. Thought you could look all this up?

My service was honorable enough to be put on the Women Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Is your name there?

Have seen how sympathetic you are to veterans. You wouldn’t last five minutes with the guys at my local VAMC with your attitude.

A General under Honorable conditions is the same as a regular Honorable, for benefits and such. I could have had it upgraded to plain old Honorable six months after I got out, but didn’t see the need to, and still don’t.

I am classified as a Vietnam-era Veteran. By the time I got out of basic and school, the police-action had been declared over, and our guys were being sent home. My request to be sent there was denied, and I was sent to a state-side base.

Received the Good Conduct Medal with 2 clusters, Meritorious Service Medal, and Hazardous Duty Medal, to name a few. How much time have you spent in the military – active duty or reserves?? Always amazes me how someone who has never served a day of their life defending their country labels those of us who are proud of serving our country “warmongers, hateful, dispicable, etc”. I am beginning to question your loyalty to the United States. If I was allowed to go fight somewhere, am thankful to God that YOU and the other cowards here WONT be there with me.

Never said I represented ALL vets. Only stated that the majority of the other vets that I talk to every week would gladly go overseas and kick butt if they were given the chance to go again. Most all that I talk with are Vietnam Vets, but a lot of them are vets of the Gulf War. And as much as someone like you disgusts THEM, they’d still fight for your right to be so condescending. You call me hate-filled, because I want to fight for your right to call me names. Well, you go for it.

Have had my fill of all the cowards here, but I did and will continue to fight for your right to spew out your diatribe.

I realize it’s a lot to ask, and I have asked it many times before now and it has yet to be addressed, but if the cowardly whiners will shut up, maybe we could have a discussion about the topic, which is the USS COLE. The personal attacks on my character have given me great insight into the personalities of the posters. You’re a large collection of whining, crybaby, chickenshits that are only on this planet because your ancestors gave a damm and fought to defend our Constitution and Bill of Rights. They fought and died to defend your right to go somewhere else if you don’t like it in the U.S.A… Am really grateful that none of you are in the military anymore, because if it was up to you to defend MY Rights – {{chill up spine}} yeesh, just the thought of it gives me nightmares. Thank God that most of the active duty and reserve VOLUNTEERS aren’t as spineless as the bunch that has posted here.

Everything not approved by you is wrong eh??? Hmm… sorry, but don’t recall reading in the Board Rules about YOU having final approval on everyone else’s posts and/or typing style. I’ve had a personal computer since 1983, worked on them in the Air Force when the old punchcard computers took up an entire 16x16 foot room. I type at over 80 wpm with arthritis in both my hands…so if I want to use some extra periods at the end of my sentences, I’ll do so without your damm approval or permission. You’re such a twit.

Shall we check yours also while we’re at it? I have one computer, one phone line, one ISP, one user name that I use on all the boards I am registered with. Am sure most of the people posting/lurking here have one computer, one (or more) phone lines and one ISP. No one uses my computer but me, and I don’t need any other names but the one I use everywhere… RosieWolf. I have seen you defend other posters when they were attacked fairly or unfairly (in your opinion)… Are you using other names and posting for ‘them’ on your computer? Hmmm… seems like too much of a coincidence IMO.

Personal computers that took up a 16’ x 16’ room and read punch cards? I think not. Quick, who invented the code used on punch cards? And by 1983, nearly everyone had moved to VDT’s, or at least magnetic tape.

Ok, fair enough. Rosie, if I understand the OP correctly, your position is that the military should allow you to go to some unspecified location in the Middle East, with your pocketknife in hand, and stab some random Arabs to death, then withdraw so that the region can be turned into a nuclear wasteland.

Would you care to expand on these statements?

So, I’m fairly pleased with the Mariners’ last outing. I just wish I could have any hope of their pulling out tonight’s game, though. Not only am I turning into a Seattle fan these days, but I’m really fucking sick of the Yankees, and I really don’t want to have to listen to any more “Subway Series” drivel. Most folks who live outside NY/NJ don’t give a rat’s ass, really.

The Yanks are starting Orlando, who is now 7-0 career postseason, and the Ms have John Halama (0-0 postseason with 6 of 6 scoreless innings, 2-0 in three games against the Yanks this season, 3-0 in his last four games, and no losses since Sept. 11).

With luck, we’ll see a strong defensive game, and if the Ms can take the crowd out even a little bit, they have a shot.

I just don’t think they can take two from 'em, especially in NY. Sigh. Whaddaya do, huh?

Heh, Rosiewolf is Rosiewolf in OPERATION:RANDOM KILIING.

Watch in amazement as our heroine valiantly thrusts the pocketknife of destruction into the heart of the evil empire, singlehandedly delivering her unique brand of justice to a violent and hate filled region. Stand in Awe when she pushes the Big Red Button and slaughters millions of civilians to purge the anger from her soul.

Rated S for rants of utter stupidity.

Who do see for the part of RosieWolf?

I’m thinking Faye Dunaway. Wasn’t she so convincingly over the top in Mommie Dearest?

Nah, I’m thinking Amanda Plummer, only more crackheaded out and add about 35 years.

Or perhaps someone could kidnap Estelle Getty, punch her in the face about 40 times, and slip her a high dosage of mescaline. That sounds about right.

No, No, No. I think it should be Rosiewolf, with Wardensu filming, and the rest of his buddies lugging the gear. They could mysteriously disappear, and 6 months later the film shows up somewhere.

You were/are barred from any VA educational benefits because you were NOT discharged Honorably. Not that your lack of education doesn’t show or anything.

My choice for the actress to play Rosie would be the woman who played mama in the movie Throw Mama From The Train. Of course, they would have to ugly the actress up a little bit.

The only thing I can’t figure out is how her “LOLOLOLOLOL’s” would come across on the big screen? Would it sounds like a continuous tongue flipping thing, “lolololololol” or will she say “laughoutloudlaughoutloudlaughoutloudlaughoutloud”? I mean, what the fuck?

As for the rest of her family (Idnew, wardensu, and Potato-something), I think the cast from Deliverence would be perfect!

A.K.A. The Scary Bitch Project.

Jesus, what an utter trainwreck. UncleBeer, thanks for the link to that other thread. Sweet mother of God, Springer has nothing on these idiots.

Isn’t that actress dead, Diane? Wasn’t she the same one who was in the Goonies?
Mama Fratelli?

I say get Roseanne to play her.

Well, that and bring her back.

Well hell, dig her up, tie a pine tree airfreshener around her neck, prop her up in the corner with a bottle of Wild Turkey in her hand and no one will know the difference.

In all my years with the SDMB I have never lowered myself to say anything bad about another person’s webpage, however I feel it is my duty to worn you all. I got brave and clicked on their web pages and have since been scrubbing my eyeballs with steel wool and Comet!

I mean we are talking Springer meets http://www.Fugly.com meets The Hills Have Eyes.

Be warned.

I apologize to the board for attacking someone’s webpage.
It wasn’t very cool of me. Sorry.

I’m bent over and willing to accept any spankings coming my way, but daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn!

First, Diane- I was OK until I read the line about her webpage. I nearly wet my pants laughing.

Uncle Beer, FYI

Can you believe my company STILL punches cards? Believe it or not there are still places that use keypunch. One of constant quests is for new keypunch machines or parts. Just thought you might care. Or not. ::shrug:: You just don’t hear the word “keypunch” very often.

I got my snacks earlier, but I forgot a program. This thread reads like stereo instructions! Very confusing. Will there be an intermission? Does anyone want to grab a Starbucks after the show?

Zette

Di, that was too much!

I thought one of those sites was great… it just needed BIGGER FONT!!

Did you read the guest book? Yowch!

Kinda sorta maybe not. I was extremely pissed off when the Cole was bombed by (at that time) unknown terrorists. They are finding bomb parts and such at the house where these cowards lived. Am sure in a short time, they will find out who was really behind this unwarranted attack. When they do, am sure that they will be dealt with in a most unpleasant way by the American sympathizers who reside all over the world. There are several groups of these men and women who do nothing but go around and quietly annihilate many of the scumbags that have hurt our citizens. I know personally of one such individual.

My point in posting that I would take a pocketknife and go defend my country’s honor, was that I would willingly and gladly go, as well as a great many of the people that I know would. I wouldn’t be sitting on my butt complaining about our patriots being slaughtered by a Third World nobody and picket the military bases for being so ‘cruel’.

When I was in Okinawa and Carter announced he was giving Okinawa back to Japan… the Okinawans were extremely upset. The Japanese government sent ‘agents’ to Okinawa and picketed all the military bases and posts there, and bombed cars and mugged the civilians in Naha. Here we were giving them back an island that a great many of our soldiers died defending, and they came down there to torture everyone they could lay a hand on. It was a very scarey time to be there and even though I was offered the option of staying a 4 year tour… I passed on it. The Okinawans loved the Americans stationed there, the Japanese did not. Shortly after I left, a marine was charged with raping a local asian girl. He was sent back stateside and the charges were eventually dropped, but not until a lot more rioting took place and the government of Japan wanting to try him in their courts.

And if at any time Clinton or anyone declares war on anyone and we go over there and kick ass… you can bet I’ll be at the docks to welcome them home…ticker tape and all. Unlike the reception many of our Vietnam Vets received when they got home. Veterans have long memories, and several of the ones I know won’t even go near a V.A. or anyone associated with one because of how America treated them when they got home. Most won’t even tell you they ARE vets because of how they’ve been treated over the last 30 years. Very sad and frustrating to them.

Wrong again. A General under HONORABLE conditions IS an honorable discharge. I had G.I.BILL benefits to use toward college or anything else I wanted to use it for until ten years after my discharge, at which time it expired. $20,000 for my use at any school I wanted to attend, even correspondence school. I have over 60 college credit hours. So shut up stupid.

I’d just like to say to anyone not currently in the military or eligible for the draft that wants the US to become involved in ANY combat: FUCK YOU.

For those people that the issue ACTUALLY affects, it’s a lot less simple to have such knee jerk opinions.

That is all.
