- In the MILITARY.
- Never implied that I was in Vietnam… NEVER, NOT ONCE.
- I had a desk, yes, but I was outside most of the day.
- The ‘vietnam conflict’ was a police action and most of our guys were finally pulled out in the fall of 1975/spring of 1976. We still have POWs there.
- Jan 75. Thought you could look all this up?
My service was honorable enough to be put on the Women Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Is your name there?
Have seen how sympathetic you are to veterans. You wouldn’t last five minutes with the guys at my local VAMC with your attitude.
A General under Honorable conditions is the same as a regular Honorable, for benefits and such. I could have had it upgraded to plain old Honorable six months after I got out, but didn’t see the need to, and still don’t.
I am classified as a Vietnam-era Veteran. By the time I got out of basic and school, the police-action had been declared over, and our guys were being sent home. My request to be sent there was denied, and I was sent to a state-side base.
Received the Good Conduct Medal with 2 clusters, Meritorious Service Medal, and Hazardous Duty Medal, to name a few. How much time have you spent in the military – active duty or reserves?? Always amazes me how someone who has never served a day of their life defending their country labels those of us who are proud of serving our country “warmongers, hateful, dispicable, etc”. I am beginning to question your loyalty to the United States. If I was allowed to go fight somewhere, am thankful to God that YOU and the other cowards here WONT be there with me.
Never said I represented ALL vets. Only stated that the majority of the other vets that I talk to every week would gladly go overseas and kick butt if they were given the chance to go again. Most all that I talk with are Vietnam Vets, but a lot of them are vets of the Gulf War. And as much as someone like you disgusts THEM, they’d still fight for your right to be so condescending. You call me hate-filled, because I want to fight for your right to call me names. Well, you go for it.
Have had my fill of all the cowards here, but I did and will continue to fight for your right to spew out your diatribe.
I realize it’s a lot to ask, and I have asked it many times before now and it has yet to be addressed, but if the cowardly whiners will shut up, maybe we could have a discussion about the topic, which is the USS COLE. The personal attacks on my character have given me great insight into the personalities of the posters. You’re a large collection of whining, crybaby, chickenshits that are only on this planet because your ancestors gave a damm and fought to defend our Constitution and Bill of Rights. They fought and died to defend your right to go somewhere else if you don’t like it in the U.S.A… Am really grateful that none of you are in the military anymore, because if it was up to you to defend MY Rights – {{chill up spine}} yeesh, just the thought of it gives me nightmares. Thank God that most of the active duty and reserve VOLUNTEERS aren’t as spineless as the bunch that has posted here.
