No, oldscratch, I was saying, “fuck you.” Everybody knows the US has killed people–hell–every country has–that’s what countries do to protect their interests. I’ll leave it up to history to decide if its justifiable. I certainly know that some actions of the US were not. I said “fuck you” because your statement, while blindingly obvious, was incredibally obnoxious. People don’t deserve to have their greef and anger devalued because of your gripes with how we handled things before.
And I hardly think the USS Cole was there being “imperialist.” It was on its way to enforce sanctions against a tyrant. The attitude that we don’t have any business in the Middle East is immature; we have vital interests to protect there, and those interests are of paramount importance if we want to preserve our freedom.
I think oldscratch’s beef (forgive me if I misinterpret) was with the “Oh, my God, how could this happen? These were AMERICANS, after all!” attitude rather than a desire to tromp all over someone’s pain and grief.

Which is why I’ve been much more respectful to you in your thread. However, the op (to which I was responding) wasn’t really an expresion of grief and anger. It was an expresion of strangely fanatical loonyism. And this sentance “Am DAMM TIRED of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA being blamed for everyone ELSE’s damm shit!” left the poster entirely open to my criticisms.
