This Just In...Fox News Channel is bunch of lying fucks

Not sure where you’re going. I’m saying they’re both trying to push a narrative. I’m not talking about their allegiance to specific people.

I don’t know if it has been mentioned yet in this thread, but Brian Stelter, who hosts Reliable Sources each Sunday on CNN, wrote a book called Hoax. It details the unholy relationship between Trump and Fox “News.” A very worthwhile – if depressing – read.

I know what you’re saying. CNN/MSNBC can criticize Biden, but FOX can’t say a bad think about Trump.

I hear you.

That is exactly what I’m saying. And Tucker is beside himself when CNN criticizes Biden, because, quite frankly, it exposes the extreme bias of FOX.

Ok. I just want to be clear in that CNN/MSNBC have their own bias. I don’t know who owns both companies and who their advertisers are, but I’m sure that can effect some of their reporting. I just go to those sources with that in mind. Most outlets are the same, so… I just remain a little skeptical.

Yep.

Nope.

It’s impossible to be entirely unbiased; human nature creeps in in one way or another. For example, if nothing else, we all have a novelty bias that means they’ll never be a news program that just reports every day on heart disease and poverty related deaths.

However, in terms of journalistic integrity, there’s no comparison – and that’s implied in statements like “they’re all the same”.
The Afghanistan situation is a good example of this. Left-leaning news sites cover the story, try to be as informative as they can and have criticized biden pretty harshly.
An equivalent story about trump may not even have been covered on fox at all, and, if it was, would probably have been entirely from the perspective of running cover or “what about something the left is doing?”

(Upthread I mentioned the fox website did indeed criticize trump, but the websites of many news outlets can diverge editorially with the TV channel. See the daily mail for example)

Ivormectin? I barely knew the woman.

I meant exactly what you said… most outlets have a bias. Not commenting on the level of bias. Like I said; FOX is much worse.

When networks are repairing or reversing damage from bias on other networks it’s not necessarily biased.

They might be biased for the truth.

If Fox bullies the public square into believing that all fact checking done on Fox news is just another “bias” that always acts to normalize fox as just another biased actor. That’s part of the fascist playbook of course.

That doesn’t mean MSNBC and CNN aren’t bias at all about anything. That’s all I’m saying.

Nobody is saying otherwise.

And IMHO there’s a difference between a point of view and bias.

There is also a difference between making an error and then correcting, and making an error and running with it.

Yes, and when you deliberately make an error again and again and again without correcting it, I believe that’s called lying. Which they do. A lot.

Just curious. Isn’t Boeing a huge contributor to MSNBC?

Also there’s this:

What do you think they are biased about? Just saying they are biased is not making any point, unless there is something else to it. A bias can’t be attributed on general principle.

Okay, well then I should specify “potential bias”, I guess. I’m not sure bias is avoidable.

A lot of people I know would say that MSM is often “pro war”. They were very supportive for the start of the war… not so much with ending it.

And I’m not saying that it couldn’t have been planned better, but a lot of people on the news don’t want to rip the band-aid off.

This is how it seems to me… I’ve been known to be wrong.

Corral that loose talk!

As for Fox News: predictably, now that they can’t play the “none of the COVID vaccines are fully authorized” card, they’ve pivoted to questioning FDA procedures, via mysterious unnamed “critics”:

Poor, poor Fox News hosts: forced to think in order to come up with a new reason their viewers should be taking horse medications, instead of getting vaccinated!

Wait.
Wasn’t “streamline the FDA Approval process to get needed medicines to the public faster” a Trump campaign promise or am I misremembering?

I confess-I am a “potential bank robber”.
