It’s even more amusing, or perhaps ironic, that the phrase “American exceptionalism” was first used by Stalin, and he was commenting that Americans thought (and probably still do t hink) that our capitalist economy was an exception to Marxism’s universal laws. The terrible, awful, burdensome rise in motor fuel prices that was making life so unbearable for everyone is now receding – it should be welcome news, so they have to find a way to spin it into a bad thing.

We are in the $5.10~5.50 range here, but if you go to somewhere like Wisconsin, it will usually be about 30% less. I paid $5.60 about 3 weeks ago at one of the cheapest places around.
