Of course the tv in the waiting room is tuned to Fox - it always is.
I just saw a story about the recent arrest regarding the leak of top secret documents.
Believe it or not, they just blamed it on the “Covid lockdown” that “sent him to an online world” where he became a victim of chat groups.
They are also tripping over themselves to describe the security process as “sloppy” and that he shouldn’t have had access to the information.
“Does this give the American people the confidence to believe that the government has a handle on what’s going on?”
The amount of anti-American propaganda on this network is outrageous.
“It’s Biden’s fault. Directly. We’re working on the details as this goes to air.”

Well, that’s probably true. He had security clearance, so presumably there was something he had a need to know, but he didn’t need to know all of the stuff he took, so there should have been procedures in place to prevent him from getting it. And for that matter, it seems likely that a proper background check should have raised some red flags and prevented him from getting the clearance he did have. Between this and all of the classified documents that have been going home with politicians, a lot of federal agencies really should be putting some serious effort into improving their security procedures.
He had security clearance because his job, IIRC, was to maintain the network on which the information resided. Also, nobody has a criminal record until they commit a crime. What’s worrying me most about this case is that, thanks to scum like Fox and Perjury Traitor Greene, the trolls are coming out again, but this time to support this traitor and condemn, yet again, Colonel Vindman.
Faux News has apologized for lying to the court. So we’re all good now, eh?

It doesn’t take a criminal record to disqualify someone from a security clearance, though. There’s probably something in his record that was already there and visible, that they could have found.

True. Married to the wrong person can do it. If one of our guys married a girl from Taiwan, if her family had lived on the island since forever, he was okay, but if they were part of the crowd that arrived with Chiang Kai‐shek in 1949 he’d lose his clearance. The presumption was she still had family in the PRC who might be used to bring pressure on him.
One guy at our site in Edinburgh lost his clearance when he married a Scottish girl which was a head-scratcher.

Why on earth would Dominion settle now? They got summary judgement on 4/5 of their case already, and Fox News just got sanctioned by the judge.
It depends what they actually want. If their business has been wrecked by this, the money might be the most important to them. You and I want to see a public flogging, but Dominion presumably wants to rebuild their business.
If, on the other hand, they think they will be served by a public flogging (such as six months of Fox running apologies over the air) then that’s where they’ll go.
IOW, they aren’t doing this for you and me.
