This Just In...Fox News Channel is bunch of lying fucks

We’re so trustworthy, that when we polled people about it, even those we weren’t polling told us how much they trusted us. Some may even have had tears in their eyes.

This post perfectly sums up just how convoluted the reasoning is on the trumpist right.

Just in case that link is pay walled, I’ve attached a gift link..

I think this is the key to how the numbers came out in Fox’s favor.

The description of the data in the ad, in fact, shows that the pollster asked about media outlets people watch and then “which do you most trust for news? Check as many as apply.” So 41 is the percentage of people who cited Fox as being among however many outlets they cited as being their most trusted.

You begin to see how this framing might make Fox look good. It is a go-to news source for conservative-leaning Americans, whereas left-leaning Americans split their choices among a number of other mainstream outlets.

So Fox is the first choice of the 41% of conservatives, while the 59% who think Fox is shite pick among multiple different sources.

And even among their custom-targeted audience, still less than half trust them.

I was more thinking, “this is an ad by Fox, and they don’t expect anyone to ever look at the source, so they’re not going to do anything but copy-paste the date from whatever source provided the data”.

(Although part of me now wants to see if I can start a right-wing meme that any date format other than mm/dd/yy is “woke”)

Once you realize that The Weather Channel, The BBC, Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), The Wall Street Journal, CBS, The Associated Press, National Public Radio, Reuters, The Washington Post, ABC, The Guardian, NBC, The New York Times, USA Today, Time Magazine, Newsweek, Newsmax, CNN, One America News, and MSNBC aren’t news sources, the conclusion is obvious.

My hope is that if the case is not settled, then Fox gets ordered to pay the legal fees; if it is settled, the settlement includes Fox paying the legal fees.

Fox is Fox and Truth is Truth and ne’er the twain shall meet.

It’s also one of the required ways to write a date for the United States Armed Forces and has been for many years. Who knew the miltiary was so woke!

I have no insight whatsoever on her oatmeal preferences.

In the pharma business, it’s not the only allowable way but is very common. Companies must have a standard, corporate date format to prevent confusion.

Personally, I like 01-Jan-2023 Universal and unambiguous.

I prefer the American style of month before day because doing bigger first makes more sense – much like hours come before minutes – and the year isn’t usually relevant for most dates. I agree that the perfect month is three letters, so I would go Jan 1 2023.

The English (or is that French?) abbreviation “Jan” doesn’t seem very universal to me.

I assume Hannity, Ingram and Carlson are going to have to testify. What can they possibly say? Trump derangement syndrome in reverse? Will they take the fifth?

“I don’t remember”
“A bigger boy made me do it sir”
“We had to destroy the village to save the village”
“Poop!”
“Wargle argle bargle doot!”
“May I be excused?”

Maybe Tucker Carlson can just play dumb. I wonder if he could ever pull that off?

Hmm, maybe he could.

I don’t think he’s playing.

I won’t claim it works for all languages, but it’s been my experience that for any language that uses the Latin alphabet I’ve been able to tell which month it is, or at the very least that “XYZ” is neither a day of the month nor a year. Further, no month has over 999 days, so the year is also quite clear.

It’ll be nice in 9 years when the two-digit year becomes unambiguous again.

Well, let’s go to the tape, and see what Carlson actually wrote:

“We are very, very close to being able to ignore Trump most nights. I truly can’t wait.”

“I hate him (Trump) passionately. That’s the last four years. We’re all pretending we’ve got a lot to show for it, because admitting what a disaster it’s been is too tough to digest. But come on. There isn’t really an upside to Trump.”

Speaking seriously, I think in court they’ll just tell the truth. They have no reason not to, and if they don’t they put themselves in further legal trouble.

They don’t care about the truth under oath getting back to their viewers. That ship has sailed, and that ship never sank. Who are Fox News viewers going to hear that testimony from? The “lamestream media”? They don’t trust that. They only trust what Hannity and Carlson and all the other talking heads say on their shows, and they’ll continue to talk about how great Trump is and how all the evil people on the left are trying to persecute him. There won’t be any negative consequences for what they say in court.

When Giuliani and other Trump lawyers insisted in court, under oath, that no voter fraud occurred, did that change anything? No. The people that lap up this shit and call it the greatest chocolate ice cream they’ve ever had don’t care about facts that don’t fit their beliefs. It’s all fake news.

I went slumming on a Conservative message board just to see how they were reacting to the Dominion lawsuit and found the following posts pretty much cover the feelings there.

Dominion and Fox both suck. Hard to know which one to root for. The goal of both was to thwart PDJT.

This lawsuit is as bogus as the Sandy Hook lawsuits against Alex Jones. FOX was not the only people weighing in on the Dominion machines. So far, I have seen no absolute proof Dominion machines didn’t alter any results.

Although I think the election was rigged, it was not because of Dominion. The damning thing for Fox is that it’s hosts went on air and knowingly presented a story they believed to be false as it relates to Dominion.

Overall I think Fox does a good job but they were wrong in this case.

These next two were based on quotes from a linked article with their own parentheticals added

“…they [decided based on Trump hatred] the story was bogus but felt they had to run with it to win back their audience [who wanted the truth]…”

“Dominion says that Fox destroyed its business by knowingly airing debunked claims that its ballot counting machines were used to flip the results of the election against former President Donald Trump”

Debunked? I’m not so sure about that.

and finally,

The biggest “courtroom drama” of the year!!! You can bet most of the “jurors” will be women and minorities. What normal people refer to as “a retarded jury”.

Keep it classy folks,

So in a nutshell, no minds (or lack there of) will be changed by this.
