My opinion of Ms Hilton has been raised. I had no idea she had sufficient self-awareness (or, any awareness at all) to produce self-deprecating humour.
She did not write that. I mean, I have no evidence one way or the other, but I am confident she was just doing someone else’s script.

Today I learned that just deserts is properly written with one S instead of two. I would think it would be with two S’s (a sweet treat after a meal) as opposed to one (arid land), but apparently the “deserts” in the phrase “just deserts” isn’t related to either. It’s using an older meaning of the noun deserts: “deserved reward or punishment.”
This is not a correction of anything anybody posted. Just a bit of my own ignorance that was just fought, so thought I would share

Yup, I think of it as “just what you deserve”.
Of course, I think of “desserts” as pretty much the same thing, except in the food space. I stoically choked down all my non-tasty vegetables, so my dessert is my desert.
