This just in: Thanksgiving News Flash!!!

There will be loads of people traveling and shopping this weekend!!!

Just thought you’d like to know. :stuck_out_tongue:

One of the funniest scenes in Third Rock From The Sun was after they had their first Thanksgiving dinner on Earth and Dick says to the woman, “you worked so hard today. Why don’t you go relax at the mall tomorrow.”

And living in Las Vegas, I heard that 93% of all hotel rooms are booked. I used to live in Los Angeles and I can hear them now saying, “I get off at 3 PM today, so we can get a head start and beat the traffic to Las Vegas.”

Hahahahaha…those poor schmucks…it is going to take them 8 hours if they are lucky for what normally is about a 4-5 hour trip. I have had friends spend 11 hours on the trip on a normal Friday if it is raining or there is a single minor accident along the way. On a holiday weekend, all bets are off on how long that drive is going to take.

This is why I never, ever travel anywhere on holidays. I would rather use my vacation time and go the week before or after a holiday, or at some other non-peak period.

I’ll bet it was a joy to go to Ohare in Chicago today.

Flew into O’Hare on Tues. Nightmare.

Now I’m driving from Chicago to Greenville, SC. Hasn’t been too bad so far. But I rented a car to save money cuz the flights were so expensive. But after it’s all said and done, it’d have been cheaper (and quicker, natch) to fly. :frowning:
Happy Thanksgiving, America!
