I work with 4- & 5-year-olds. Mispronunciations are abundant. However, there’s this one child who cannot say the “th” sound. He’ll come over to me and say, “Miss Moggy, can you help me get this sting (thing) apart?” What holiday is in November? Stanksgiving! But the thing that kills me is the time I heard him say to one of his classmates, “Stanks…stanks a lot.” I started saying that as a joke and now I can’t stop! People look at me funny!
Everything with him is also “up in”. “Teacher, can I play up in the kitchen center?” “Miss Moggy! John just hit Jimmy up in the eye!” He is such a funny little guy.
I know, talking about how cute kids are is sappy and maudlin…anyway, stanks for listening.

[sub] I know, I know. It’s bad. It’s a joke, a joke! Sue me! :D[/sub]
you must be a very nice teacher, Miss Moggy.
Mercutio, I don’t get it, sorry.
Knead, STANKS for the compliment. (tee hee)
My friend, the ex-kindergarten teacher, has shared many many
funny stories. My favorite has to be this one:
Little boy: “Teacher, Jason called me the “g” word”
Teacher: Wracking brain, trying to come up with correct word - “You can tell me what he said, it’s ok”
Little boy: “He called me a JERK!”
