This may be good bye

The web admins at work here have been going gung ho on blocking websites lately. They’ve already taken youtube and all other streaming media sites. They just took Yahoo! mail out as well.

It is only a matter of time before they take out the SMDB.

:frowning:

I assume no internet at home?

It’s never as much fun at home

No, I have internet at home. But, I spend 8-10 hours a day sitting at this computer - it is really the last thing I want to do when I get home. I’ll be able to get my dope fix if I really need it, but it’s gonna be in much smaller doses.

I just don’t know how I’ll keep up with everything that is going on. Of course, I may just be paranoid and they may not ever block this site, but at the rate it’s going, I fear my time here is limited.

Anyone else have block-happy web admins at their work? I don’t know how many times I’ve clicked on a perfectly inoccent link and gotten the message “blocked - pornography”.

unless you work with a lot of dopers, or are refresh-happy, I really doubt the dope merits enough bandwidth to attract attention. It would be a pain to figure out which sites are legit and which are not, and I’d expect eBay and CNN to die first, unless you are working for a tiny company, then it might stick out.
