This one's yours, environmentalists!

A fair point. From just viewing the first video, I wasn’t ready to put her in the same boat as random homeless tinfoil hat dude, but after looking at her entire page, yes, she is.

I still don’t get “tar every environmentalist with her” from the OP, but you obviously have a history with him, so I guess YMMV.

You’ve got a long way to go to reach clever. Now, the person in the article linked could very well be a member of the lunatic fringe of the gun rights movement, but nothing in that article indicates one way or another. Was he a member of the NRA? Did he write letters to the editor about the 2nd Amendment? Did he shout “You can have my gun when you pry it from my cold dead fingers you Democratic asshole!!” as he pulled the trigger? If so, sure.

OTOH, he might have shot the man because he belongs to a different political party. Or for some other reason. We don’t know, and until we do, we can’t assign him a to a group. (See this? this is called “critical thinking”. You might want to try it sometime)

I wouldn’t blow you with Dio’s mouth. I didn’t say what you are claiming, other posters have said as much, and you yourself are admitting that you’re responding to the poster and not the post. Your knee jerked, and rather than just admitting it and moving on, you’re now resorting to bombast and hysteria to hide that fact.

I’m interested in this long history I have of being critical of the environmental movement. I personally support alternative methods of generating energy, higher mileage vehicles, nuclear power, hybrid and alternative fueled cars and many other green causes. What I oppose is environmental propaganda and fearmongering(An Inconvenient Truth, "Global warming’s going to flood our coastal cities!"etc…), massive and pointless governmental intrusion and over regulation that will kill our economy(Nobody’s yet told me what difference cutting our carbon footprint, even to zero(an impossibility), will make when China and India, along with much of the third world, is doubling theirs every decade or so), intrusive and just stupid environmental lawsuits (one example: billions of dollars of much needed development is being held up in California by lawsuits on behalf of an insignificant fly with a 2 day lifespan) and environmental terrorism (EFL, ALF and their ilk). Apart from the personal cost, I actually like (well, sort of like. In theory like) higher gas prices because it’s driving THE MARKET to look for alternatives to our oil addicted lifestyle. Boy, am I ever an enemy of the Greens! Those “disclaimers and adjectives” that you poo-poo are in there for a reason: to accurately convey what I am trying to say. The fact that you feel free to ignore them doesn’t say anything at all about me or what I wrote, but it does say a good deal about your ability to read for comprehension and to reply coherently.

Huh? Why is my last post showing blank?
ETA And now it’s there. Weird. If you fixed some coding I screwed up Giraffe, thanks. Never seen a totally blank post before tho.

Yeah, there’s a bug in the version of vBulletin that we’re currently using where if a sufficiently long post has an unclosed quote tag, the whole thing shows up blank.

In the past, I’ve been a member of both. Greenpeace is pushing it, and I’m no longer a member. Sierra Club I"m cool with.

Greenpeace is like Mormons & Scientologists. At the lower levels, they’re fine people. The further up the hierarchy you get, the weirder it gets.

Well, I’ll stick to Sierra Club then. They consider themselves environmentalist. That should be enough to show you that your definitions of environmentalist should be adjusted. I am a member BTW of both but I am active with a much smaller group.

From their search engine: http://search.atomz.com/search/?sp-q=environmentalist&sp-a=sp1001da90&sp-x-1=collection&sp-q-1=National&sp-t=site_wide

BTW: Sorry, I do think I overreacted to your post. I almost never post in anger and I did in this case. To me you were making a broad brush attack on environmentalist and I reacted as such.

My apologies,
Jim

Seems to be a pattern here. In this thread, WeirdDave decided to connect another individual to a huge political/cultural group, demeaning the group, for no apparent reason. Here he is doing it again.

There’s no evidence the person in that other thread was part of anything bigger, there’s no evidence the person in this thread is part of anything bigger. They’re just stupid individuals. Isn’t that good enough for you Dave?

The culture of entitlement and victimhood IS one of the cornerstone of far-left politics. Don’t like it? Don’t be a far lefty(which, no matter what you read here, is not a “huge” political/cultural group. Neither are the evangelicals on the other side. They’re both just extremely noisy groups). In any sane world, FGIE’s cousin would be examined, found to be healthy, and told to work or starve. Instead, here he is, living on the dole and snorting cocaine for recreation while you and I foot the bill. Fuck him, and fuck anyone who facilitates his lazy ass.

No it isn’t, but spewing this retarded right-wing meme also has no relevance to the topic at hand. You tried to smear “environmentalists” by connecting them to a mentally ill woman who has nothing to do with any environmentalist movement or group. In the thread linked by muttrox, you tried to blame liberals for the fact that a disabled Iraq vet with PTSD has a drug problem. That was beyond moronic. You have a habit of injecting these kinds of asinine, non-sequitur attacks on liberals where no connection exists except in your diseased imagination. What’s the matter, did a liberal steal your girlfriend or something?

Good Christ you’re a blithering idiot. You edited your post, you’d think just once you’d edit them to be just a teensy tiny bit accurate.
