how do they measure up to past seasons? I saw the first two episodes of the season of each show and came away thinking Lost was going to be terrible and BSG was going to be mediocre. Did either pick up and become especially good? Should I be trying to watch as many episodes of either show ASAP, wait for the DVD, or just not bother?
Both were excellent and a return to form. Amazing what a deadline will do to focus your thinking.
Lost is the best season so far. Probably due to what silenus said.
Ditto. Both shows ended on high points for the whole run. The last two episodes of BSG were absolutely incredible.
I cannot speak for Lost, however BSG was very satisfying this year. Like Cervaise just said, the last 2 episodes were nothing short of jaw-dropping. You will not be disappointed!!
I haven’t followed BSG (hope to watch on DVD someday); but as for “LOST”, I agree that this was easily the best season since the first. Fast-moving; some individual episodes just astounding; and great acting. a real comeback from the 3rd season.
Both were excellent.
Interestingly, both ended at a spot that, if you asked us when the series began, we would have told you that was where they would end, and yet, they seem like they’re just getting started.
Is there more coming from BSG? I had the beginning of the season DVR’d and lost it. I’m holding out for the DVD. I thought this was the last season.
I agree about Lost but the OP states that the first two episodes of the season were terrible. If you think that then maybe the show isn’t for you. From the the end of last season through the entire latest season I thought it was consistantly great.
It is the last season, but they’re doing the same thing they did in season two, taking a long midpoint break. Season four will resume, and run to its conclusion, several months from now.

OK that makes sense. I’ll miss that too. Doubt I’ll be able to see the season as it runs in Iraq.
