Thanks guys. The doctor didn’t think he’d make it at all, so at least he exceeded her expectations. Hopefully we’ll have a better outcome next time. Apparently, they usually get at least a few strays every year.

Oh dear, I was hoping for good news. Ya done good, you gave him the best chance you could. I’m sorry. I’ve never tried raising a little one but I know the odds aren’t ever good with such young ones.
I’m sorry to hear about the little one, but good for you for trying. At least the kitten passed in warmth and comfort while being cared for.
What a shame. But we still have his wonderful pics. I just looked at them again, and cried a little.

I know little ones have the odds against them, and I agree with others who say you gave the little bugger some very happy moments during his time here. Nice warm, full belly, the supreme feeling of contentment when one has pinched off a huge loaf…these are good experiences–oh, and not to mention the affection and caring of someone nice enough to stay up and feed you hourly through the night. As well as the sniffling of countless, faceless internet people.
