Regarding Apt. 3-G being badly drawn: the latest (last?) artist to draw the strip is Frank Bolle, who took it over in the year 2000. The quality of his art has deteriorated so much over the last couple of years that it seems likely there’s something wrong with him. I’d guess he’s retiring (and the strip is retiring with him) because of illness or impairment.
For comparison, here’s a strip from two years ago, and here’s one from last week. Even the lettering looks bad now.
