That WHO was a Lesbian?
Prudence.
[Shrug] Well, so far I have seen no clues for that.
Maybe not, but it seems like an obvious narrative twist to the “Prudence as rival for Quill’s affections” storyline.
And unlikely in a strip such as Luann.
My thought was “And of course, the usual happy ‘everyone loves Luann’ and everything turns out fine” ending to her freaking out about it, being nervous, potentially jealous, etc.
Total lesbian. And annoying as hell.
To Thudlow Boink and Drunky Smurf: So far, the notion that this Pru is lesbian is nothing but conjecture. We shall have to wait to see if any real evidence of it appears. Right now she’s just an irritating gushing stranger.
One can always hope and dream.
That…FACE of hers doesn’t bother you? There has got to be some backstory to that face. Involving Lon Chaney.
Not sure if he’s drawing her as “attractive but weird” or “over the top and thus ultimately unavailable”, but she’s certainly not another Luann. Pru certainly isn’t my type.
Uh-huh. And putting poodles in microwaves and putting babies in the oven? Because that happened too. Really.
Why? I get the impression he’s not thrilled with characters getting stoned in comics and clearly Billy is totally fucked up all the time, judging by those routes he takes to get home.
Just bad drawing, perhaps.
I have documentation:
People also turned up at the [Free Medical Clinic on Clayton Street in San Francisco] seeking treatment for the most awful wounds, caused by treading barefoot on broken glass and later on excrement, having been unaware of anything on the sidewalk because they were stoned out of their minds."–Geoffrey Moorhouse, San Francisco (1979), pp. 134-35, Chapter 5, “The Tradition of Nonconformity.” [I confess that the mention of gangrene was my own interpretation.]
How does that show that Prudence does or does not play for the other team? :dubious:
Ask Fenris, who quoted me on that in the first place. [Shrug]
Whoda thunk that a bunch of grown Dopers would read, let alone discuss and debate, Luann?
Anyway, I think what we’re all really waiting on the edge of our seats to find out is: Does Mr. Gray have Mob connections?
Hey, if there’s a cute lesbian in the mix, I’m in.
Lesbian or not, cute is out of the question.
And am I the only one who would find it very easy to not like her? Not due to her looks (who cares about that?) but she seems very, very needy. Maybe she’ll calm down once she gets past her nervousness, but, right now, I’d find her incredibly annoying.
I actually missed the smile on Luann’s face. I should have known that Luann would be okay with anyone who liked her, but she was so offputting that my brain couldn’t process her as feeling anything but dragged around by someone she just met.
Good Lord, that never occurred to me. “I will make him an offer he don’t refuse.”
In other Comic News, it is rumored that Apartment 3-G, the badly drawn, badly lettered talking head soap opera will end this week.
