This will never not be funny

Hank Kingsley sings “Spinning Wheel” (from The Larry Sanders Show)

“Jon” shows his list of prank show characters (from Delocated)

There used to be a web page where a guy named Bill Hanstock viciously savaged the art “style” of comic book penciler Rob Liefeld; it was so funny my diaphragm would hurt from laughing so hard. Unfortunately it looks like the original link is down. There’s some references to it here:

I’ll admit I hadn’t thought of it that way.

Just FYI, a half anchovy pizza does not exist- if you get half 'chovies the other half will still small and taste like those tiny fish. Trust me on this.

I used to order anchovies on half all the time, because my wife doesn’t like them but I love them. She never complained. I don’t know if there are any pizza joints near us that even offer anchovies as an option these days.

Doesn’t have to. You could order a calzone.

From Wad’Ya Know, a former radio show with a quiz segment: (Wikipedia’s entry)

Prior to the playing of the Quiz, an audience member is given a list of the four disclaimers to read, which state who can or cannot play the quiz. The disclaimers, read on the air every week, remain constant, with the exception of disclaimer 2, which is a short joke referencing a current event:

  1. “All questions used on Whad’ya Know? have been painstakingly researched, although the answers have not. Ambiguous, misleading, or poorly worded questions are par for the course. Listeners who are sticklers for the truth should get their own shows.”
  2. Here the audience member reads a short statement making light of a current event.
  3. “Persons employed by the International House of Radio or its member stations are lucky to be working at all, let alone tying up the office phones trying to play the quiz. Listeners who have won recently should sit on their hands and let someone else have a chance for a change.”
  4. “All opinions expressed on Whad’ya Know? are well-reasoned and insightful. Needless to say, they are not those of the International House of Radio, its member stations, or lackeys. Anyone who says otherwise is itching for a fight.”

Too soon?

Intelligence is knowing a Tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is knowing not to include it in a fruit salad.

I’ve always found the use of “legume” to designate a class of food to be a strange usage since “legume” is also a French word that simply means “vegetable”. But in English legumes are distinct from vegetables – they are technically the dry fruit or seeds of plants of the legume family such as peas or beans.

As a bored child sitting in church, I merely had to imagine a quiet raspberry being emitted during a pause in the proceedings to utterly lose it and usually ended up interrupting the service just as rudely with my snickering.

Some years ago at an arts & crafts show, I bought a wallet that was made out of fabric with this printed on it:

It was never not funny, for like 15 years. When it wore out, I went on Etsy and found another artist who makes wallets from images, and commissioned myself a new one. Because it’s still funny!

Every so often a cashier will clock it and it gives them a good chuckle too.

Even those little yellow sun tomatoes??

Alternately, it can refer to the plants themselves, so you can say, for instance, that clover is a legume.

There are so many sketches from “I Think You Should Leave” that make me laugh every time, but I’ll pick “Ghost Tour” (warning: “adult” language).

Philosophy is wondering if that makes ketchup a smoothie.

Quite a while ago I posted here about a zookeeper returning a platypus to its home after rehab (or something like that, I can’t find my post and the details are foggy).

Anyway, the keeper said something along the lines of “…and we’ll get him back to his platypussary.”

I didn’t literally roll on the floor laughing at ‘platypussary’, but I came very close. I still think of it every now and then.

mmm

There’s a 12-year old inside each and every one of us. In some of us, it’s very close to the surface!

Including the 8-year-olds?

Charisma is being able to sell a tomato-based fruit salad.

 :weary_cat:

I had a Credit Card with Sorcerer Mickey on it- that is “Magic Plastic”.

Carrot in a box.

And the re-match.
