Summer’s almost here and that means many June weddings, which means many first dances for happy newlyweds. It also means proms. Every year there’s at least one sappy top 40 tune that you just know the artist wrote with those dances in mind.
Knocking out Ed Sheeran’s sappy Thinking Out Loud is this treacly misdemeanor (Say You Won’t Let Go by James Arthur).
A beautiful little number in which the singer vows his undying love with such descriptive sentiments as how he held her hair back when she was throwing up after drinking too much :smack: That is not a scene I want to conjure up in my mind, nor, if I was the bride, would I want other people picturing it.
The melody is decent I guess, but the combination of the corny ass lyrics and his overwrought singing is making this one especially hard to hear all the live long day.
Anybody out there know someone who has already picked this as their wedding dance song?
