You can, actually, have a title as a name - see Prince Nelson. There are also comparisons - “he’s so inventive he’s another Edison” and the like.
But hey, it’s comic books. Enjoy the ride.

The Mjolnir in the trailer does seem to have cracks in it, as if it marked where shattered pieces were brought back together.
I liked it well enough as a popcorn movie with fights and explosions, but I think I forgot the plot about 10 seconds after leaving the theatre.
The plot didn’t really matter. Ragnarok was great because of the hilarious moments and performances by Goldblum, Hemsworth, Thompson, Hiddleston, Ruffalo, and more.
I’m not sure any of them are going to be able to lift it. Marcaida is probably the best shot, and his tests are all pretty easy on the weapon itself. “It will KEELL!”
kintsugi has become very popular. it was in star wars with kylo ren’s helmut, and now thor’s hammer. perhaps it is held together by the power of lightening?
names can be a bit gender fluid. women have male names, and men have women names. sometime names even switch sides, like douglass, ashley, or crystal.
in a craft sort of way, i have my own style of kintsugi, if something i really like breaks. i use silver or gold nail polish to put it back together.
If the hammer* of the God is impossible to pick up if one is not worthy, how could it get repaired? The individual pieces should be the same, no?
So, does it feel pain? Does it not bleed (lightning?)? And more importantly, is it pissed it got shattered? I’d be careful using it. Don’t get on its bad side.
*how does one pronounce that word? Muh jul near?
I don’t think that the MCU version of Mjolnir has ever been established to be intelligent – for that matter, I’m not sure that it was ever established in the books, either, prior to the Jane-as-Thor story arc.
Roughly “M’YUL-neer” or “M’YOL-neer.” The m+y sound isn’t like “my,” it’s more like the starting sound in “meow.”
(And, if you’re Jane’s old research assistant Darcy, it’s pronounced “Meow-Meow.”
)
Oh they definitely wouldn’t have ruled me correct on Jeopardy! the other day in Norse Mythology!
i loved darcy’s mew-mew and call it that now.

The “only the worthy” part was an enchantment Odin put on the hammer, and he did so quite recently. We actually see it happen in the first Thor movie, right before Odin exiles him to Earth. So the part where only Thor can lift it is not intrinsic to the hammer. How “magic” works is, of course, up to the individual creator, but it’s reasonable to assume that while the hammer was broken, the enchantment that made it impossible for anyone else to lift was also broken, so its fragments could be picked up by anyone.
Huh. I missed it. I thought it came that way.
IIRC, the comics answer is also that the spell isn’t stupid. If the universe is at stake, somehow a lot of people are suddenly going to be considered ‘worthy’. I would think that extends to repair as long as the smith isn’t trying to wield it.
Going to guess it’s less “repaired” and more reconstituted, pulling itself back into form at the request of a worthy person. Thor was so overtaken when it was crushed and just assumed it was destroyed and so he never tried. This makes sense to me given the state of its repair: chunks held together and glowing through the cracks versus being welded or recast/forged.
We don’t actually know if she’s going to be called “Thor” in the movie. There’s multiple instances of characters not being called by their superhero names right away in the MCU.
She’s got that metal hammer, should call her Iron-Woman.
Yeah, it’s sort of weird how much emphasis Thor puts on it. It’s kind of like if your dad took away your car keys when you were 16 because you got a speeding ticket, and you spend the rest of your adult life basing your self worth on whether your car starts or not.
Well, Thor has never been shown to be the brightest bulb.
IMHO, it’s not quite that clear cut. Odin’s exact words were “Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor.” This was right after stripping Thor of all his powers (and armor). Later in the movie, when Thor proved himself worthy by sacrificing himself to save the townspeople, the hammer flew back to him and he got his powers back. And if lifting the hammer is a power of Thor, then before the enchantment no one else could have lifted it regardless of whether they were worthy or not.
If the enchantment continued to work that way, then any time someone else picked up the hammer, like Vision in AoU, or Cap in Endgame, then Thor should have lost his powers again and they should have been transferred to the new hammer wielder. Steve definitely gets power - he casts lightning bolts against Thanos, but Thor keeps his power as well.
