Thor's Hammer

Thundarr the Barbarian seems pretty pure in his goodness.
He-Man too.
Maybe Robin Hood?

Elan. But then he’d break something with it.

Faramir is a good choice. For my money he’s the sole reason the race of men was salvageable in LOTR.

Definitions of ‘worthy’ are slippery…possibly on purpose. But it takes true selflessness to make it happen. As seen in the trailer Cap manages to just move it - which surprises the crap out of Thor - but no one else can do anything.

Remember, Mjolnir isn’t infinitely heavy…it’s magically heavy. It will evaluate the worthiness of anyone who tries to move it in any way. I choose to believe that’s selflessness, desire to do good and a willingness to lay the smack down on evil.

Han used it, he didn’t wield it.

Anpanman! You don’t get more selfless than feeding your head to the hungry!

Well, Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar pretty definitely wouldn’t be able to lift it because… well, you know.

Paksennarion Dorthansdottir.

Well, daddy Odin can alter the enchantment. I’d think Doctor Strange, being the Sorcerer Supreme, ought to be able to overcome the enchantment as well.

Gandalf and Aragorn.

Strange is only the Sorcerer Supreme of his dimension. It’s not even like Sorcerers Supreme are in short supply, either. Heck, Strange calls upon Agamatto and others for help, who I’d rate as Odin-level or below. I don’t think he’s got a chance.

edit: Gandalf was wary of the One Ring; I don’t think he’d rate for worthiness as, say, Faramir did (since Faramir actually passed up on taking the Ring from Frodo). I don’t think Aragorn was ever tested against the Ring, though.

Harry Potter, but only after Voldy was banished from him.

Nah nevermind, he was still a dick.

Neville Longbottom. Definitely Neville Longbottom

He was in the film. IIRC Frodo offered Aragorn the Ring and Aragorn closed Frodo’s hand around it.

Does Mjolnir ever make a mistake? Has it ever allowed an unworthy wield when it didn’t intend to? Could it allow an unworthy wield it in order to further some purpose?

Doc Strange has done quite a bit of ass-kicking in other dimensions, and I’ve seen him ramp up and duke it out with cosmics and high-level deity types.

Jack Ryan could wield it … and if Tom Clancy was writing the story, Ryan would actually yank it away from Thor and beat him about the head and shoulders with it. And Thor would meekly submit in recognition of Ryan’s innate awesomeness.

Was he able to do that outside of the recent Inversion story arc?

Wasn’t one of the Marvel Zombies a zombie Thor? Could he still use his hammer after he started eating Braaaaains?

Has Magneto ever tried?

None of the above, IMNSHO. Simply being nobly heroic is not enough, else 1/2 the Marvel universe could lift the hammer. I’m of the opinion that the number of people throughout fiction who should be capable of lifting the hammer should be able to be counted on one’s fingers.

One website talks about Thor’s father, grandfather, and great-grandfather all wielding Mjolnir despite likely being unworthy, though (in comic’s terms) I think the ‘no-lift’ enchantment was only added by Odin when Thor was cast down.

Ned Stark, Danaerys, Seandor Clegane (The Hound.) Asha Greyjoy? I wonder, and I would LOVE to know if Varys could . . .

And of course, the great question, Tyrion?
