In my college newspaper’s police blotter there is a report about something odd that went on this past week.
I won’t write the whole little report to avoid the copyright issues, so I’ll summarize what is said:
A faculty member reported that one of his students said he worked for homeland security and that he carries with him a portable radiation detector that went off when he entered one of the buildings. The police came and talked to the student. The student said the amount of radiation was lower than what he was told is dangerous. The police told the environmental office that went through the building with a Geiger counter. The readings were normal.
I didn’t know the government was paying random college students to walk around with Geiger counters… And I thought it was just a joke until the student apparently convinced the police that he was with homeland security.
Anyone know anything about stuff like this? (Don’t tell me if you’d have to kill me )
