Those poor cats

I debated between putting this here or in the pit. I can’t decide if I’m more sick or angry.

The manager of the Riverside Mobile Court called city police on Monday, April 23, after reportedly smelling a foul odor coming from one the trailers. The manager said he had not seen the owner of the trailer for a number of weeks and feared the worst.
Unable to contact the owner, city officials paid a surprise visit to the residence that same day and found something that shocked and sickened everyone - dozens and dozens of cats living in a squalor that was truly beyond description.

Not all cats found in the home were alive, though. Several of the animals had long since perished and were half-buried in layers of debris covering the floor. Up to **four feet ** deep in places, the floor of the trailer was literally buried in cat feces and other refuse. The filth had actually begun oozing out of the home through small holes in the trailer.

The trailer is a few blocks from my house. The final total of living cats was well over 30.
I’m told by a police officer that most will have to be euthanized because of disease.

Nice to see that they charged the owner. I had started to think that they didn’t punish cat hoarders anymore, since most places consider it a mental illness problem.

I just can’t believe this guy was found “competent”.
