Don Jr. aspires to this, but he’s got too much of the Trust Fund Baby/Frat Boy vibe to pull it off. Every time he tries to play “Redneck”, it comes off like poorly-executed CosPlay.
Jr’s negatives pale beside those of his dad. Who would have thought a cult could ever form around the worst person in America? We live in interesting times.

But that’s part of the point, Trump’s negatives are what makes him popular. MAGAts will look an Jr. and think, “Have you even grabbed a pussy?” And when the answer is “No”, they’ll drop him.
A lot of Trump’s schtick is that he’s a ‘winner’. Won in business, won in entertainment, won in politics until the lying cheaters lied and cheated. That’s why everything is always ‘the best’ around him. He cultivates an air of success and invites his followers to share in it.
It’s 99% bullshit, of course. But Don Jr. doesn’t even have that. When Trump Sr. is gone, Jr. will probably still be a figure in Republican politics, but more like,the Kochs than a presidential candidate, IMO. It also remains to be seen how much momey will be left when Trump’s estate is eventually settled.
My prediction is that if Trump dies, there will be a mad scramble in the Republican party to be the new MAGA leader, while half the party tries to purge itself of MAGA entirely. This will likely leave a scar on the party for years until a new normal is found.
For all we know, Eric is a secret mastermind just waiting in the wings for his Big Moment.

My take is that the Republican leopards would be so full from eating faces of their fellow Republican leopards, they would have to go have a nap.
And afterward the proud face-eating traditions will be handed down. It’s a legacy.
