Thought some of you might enjoy this

Cool, SPOOFE. Now can you do “bin Laden blows dead donky dicks” on a cruise missile? (I’d suggest a Minuteman III for the space, but somebody’d shit in their pants over it.)

Yeah…but G. Nome seems to be this way naturally. Which is really scarier?

FYI, this old article of Cecil’s lists 32 different acceptable spellings of the name of the leader of Libya. Cecil also mentions that “there is no generally accepted authority for romanizing Arabic names,” so both Osama and Usama can be correct.

I think that Assama has quite a good ring to it.

Incidently G. Nome, as a longtime Young Ones fan, I do believe it was Neil that said that.

Now back to your regularly scheduled post…

Ich Bin: I stand corrected. It was Neil who said that. It was Vyvyan who said: You are a ugly smelly boring pus-headed git. You disgusting perverted knob-head. And: You can’t clean the toilet. It will lose all it’s character.

What makes my posts seem “regularly scheduled”? I’m intrigued. If I’m noticed by my regularity though I would say that Spoofish Woofish is noticeable by a lack of it - he’s AWOL from his own thread - again.

You know, maybe I should dig up the picture of an ICBM with the caption “Delivered With A Smile” on it…

G. Nome:

You have obviously never been in Malaysia on Hari Raya (the 1st day of the month after Ramadan). Not only is gift giving appreciated on that day, but a Hari Raya card & gift to one’s sweetheart is, essentially, a Christmas Gift/Valentine Gift/Birthday Gift all rolled into one.

I gave just a Hari Raya card to a Muslim woman when visiting there and was rewarded with a kiss.

Now if you want to call that unappreciative, be my guest.

Sorry. Traffic.

Especially since Islam is not a race. But if it were, then generalizing about a race based on people you have met from said race is racist, as far as I can tell.*

*[sub]Standard disclaimer about race being a social/cultural, rather than scientific, construct.[/sub]

I decided to retrieve the thread I mentioned in order to defend myself against accusations of racism. It’s not very well written but if you read it you’ll see that I don’t consider Moslems to be alone in this at all. That was the whole point of the thread. In many cultures though, giving people things is a way to humiliate them and people in the developing world are often said to hate Western countries for their generosity (such as it is). The film clip I mentioned in the thread was played over and over again on BBC World. I’m sure the one person who answered my question was wrong in thinking Yasser Arafat was just kidding around.

Here is the thread.

I’ve heard that in China, it’s customary to refuse a gift twice before accepting it. Perhaps it’s a humility thing?

If I offered someone a gift and they refused it even once I would probably eat it (or use it in an appropriate way). That’s why I only buy gifts I want myself.

Another Vyvyan quote: My underwear is so old it’s just the hard to eradicate stains that are holding them together.
