Threatened if I go to the Police. What should I do.

You just violated a board rule by calling the OP a name. Do you want to report the post in question, or should I?

To the OP–

Talk to your landlord, including explaining that you don’t feel safe, and that you fear retaliation from the boyfriend. Be nice to him, but also be willing to mention suing him over unsafe living conditions. I have no idea if that would stick, but maybe it would motivate him in the right direction. Ideally you can be nice enough to him so that such threats are not warranted. Figure out how to get him on your side.

You are wrong. Because I have, in almost the exact same circumstances - it was a guy who should not be living here (he didn’t pay rent, he was a trouble-making ex-boyfriend who kept coming back despite repeated demands to not return) and had been causing serious trouble, like stealing and property damage. I yelled at him to leave too.

That was about a year ago. He was a foot taller than me. It was the only other time in my life I’ve done something like that. It has to be really bad to push me over the edge like that. Though I think the tipping point is getting lower as I get older.

This is wholly inappropriate for IMHO. Warning issued for personal insults.

Feel free to report a post, but please don’t junior mod.

No one should have hit you, but if you persist in yelling at people who are behaving poorly, expect more of the same.

Indubitably!

I was satisfied being meek, expecting to inherit the earth anyyyy day now.

Our legal system, and by extension society in general, disagrees with you.

If my boyfriend punched someone who was yelling at me, I’d be royally pissed. First of all, I can fight my own war of words quite well. Secondly, I don’t want to be paying bail.

Ok I have located the problem.

Your landlord is shitty, you should not be trying to “junior landlord”, or your landlord is catering to a certain type of tenant. This is a history, do you think the next tenant to move in will be different?

You really have no choice here but moving, if you continue to try to “junior landlord” other adults you will continue having run ins like this.

You need to realize that as long as your property or personal space or person isn’t being harmed you need to chill out and not care, or just move.

Dude, just get the hell out of there. Yea, we understand that your credit history is a black mark, so you will have to get creative. Stop whining and moaning, and be resourceful.
