Great Story!
How long could that guy be living down at that hotel before the money ran out?
Strange indeed.
Yanno, people ought to give more creedence to “parental radar”.
I was going up the escalators into the huge mall near us a year or two ago. We were four, myself, my wife and another couple- rushing to get up to buy movie tickets. I see this boy of perhaps…8? He’s going down the escalator, not near an adult. Odd, but not really odd- till I looked at his face. I watched him get to the bottom, look around, then turn and get right back on going up. I waited at the top for him.
He was totally lost, his grandparents had ( incredibly ) lost track of him amongst 5 other siblings they had with them at the mall. He’d been lost for over a half-hour, and was afraid to talk to the Security personnel. My wife and our friends chided me for being totally paranoid when I said, " Hold up, I wanna talk to this kid, something’s not right".
We got ahold of Mall Security anyway, they PA’d the child’s grandparents and all was fine. I just got a feeling, when I saw his face. He wasn’t crying at all…but he looked out of place, and I did something. ( I’m not trying to suck up for props here, I’m just saying that it was a case of having a bit of parental radar kick in, on a MUCH smaller scale ).
Abby, very positive heartwarming story. How keen of her to take a photo, and move on it upon her return. Kudos to that woman!!
