Three men freeze to death in a friend's backyard and aren't found for three days

For those that don’t want to click the link, he means this general.

It was funnier than that. He’s saying those guys are still dead, like someone else humorously reported about on early episodes of SNL.

Jennifer Marquez is the squeaky wheel keeping this in the news. She’s the mother of David Harrington.

It seems like drug charges could be made. But the cops have the toxicology reports and haven’t done anything.

Maybe the other witness will be key in explaining what happened. He was able to make it home after the Chiefs viewing party.

How do you know that they haven’t done anything?

It’s in the report. Still no charges and they are still not telling the families anything. Maybe a criminal case can’t be successfully prosecuted. The homeowner had a few days to clean up the house.

They can at a minimum help the families move forward from their losses.

Or, the three people who are responsible for their own drug overdoses died.

The quoted passage assumes that someone else is responsible. Maybe that’s true. But maybe the three of them took drugs and died as a result, and are themselves responsible.

That’s what the police have to figure out, and they don’t want to get it wrong.

That’s always been my guess of what happened. But I also expected them to get the guy because he likely sold or otherwise provided the drugs. He’s the only one who was at his own house.

It definitely does not sound like they are finished with the case, as I would expect the families to be informed of the cause of death in that case.

It’s quite likely that there’s not enough evidence to charge anyone with anything at this point, and there may never be. They’re not going to bring charges until/unless they think there’s enough evidence to convict.

No it isn’t. You have no idea what is going on behind the scenes.

Drugs are surprisingly portable.

I’d bet a whole ton of money that the cops went through this guys house with a microscope to find evidence he was the dealer who killed the three people in his backyard.

They were friends hanging out. Any of them could have brought the drugs. That was certainly the case in my party days. All of them could have brought some drugs or booze.

I would imagine, if police haven’t already, the next step in the investigation isn’t to close it, but to start going through social media and phone records (if they can get necessary warrants) to determine if there is evidence of dealing. Because drug dealing leaves more than just a chemical trail. At least in this day and age.

“Suprisingly”? Really?

I think your sarcasm meter needs an adjustment.

My sarcasm is still in feet. This newfangled metric sarcasm still perplexes me.

I think nobody wanted to arrest this guy. Maybe he knows things about judges or cops or councillors? Like, it sounds like he’s connected. They let him clean up the scene for like three days on a lame excuse of not hearing the phone. I mean, clearly I don’t know, but it all still seems pretty off to me.

This x 10.

Or, wild thought, they didn’t have enough evidence to either arrest him or search his house. As far as I remember from the news reports, there was no evidence of the deaths until they had been missing for three days and the bodies were found.

I doubt that. Despite the stories going around, cases of a stimulant like methamphetamine or crack being cut with fentanyl are so rare as to be practically nonexistent. Think about it: stimulant users aren’t looking to get sleepy or noddy, just the opposite in fact, and if someone buys some alleged speed and starts getting drowsy after a line or shot, they’ll almost certainly figure they’ve been burned. Dealers know this, of course, so the idea of them deliberately cutting an upper with a strong-ass downer really doesn’t make any sense.
