Three men freeze to death in a friend's backyard and aren't found for three days

In my wilder days I sometimes partied all night long on a Friday and would describe myself as sleeping for the next two days. In reality I slept more than usual, but it involved going to bed Saturday morning, sleeping, waking up for some food and water and toilet use, then dozing off again.

I thought this was so bizarre from the beginning. I don’t know, I guess it’s because I’ve been on some loads in my life, but never one that I’ve slept for 3 days and haven’t had a memory of who was with me, needing to use the bathroom, eat, etc.
Do they have any idea who supplied the drugs?

Finding this out is probably what’s taken so long.

I’m guessing it was that guy from the Family Circus cartoon, Not Me.

I’ve been following this… and thinking that if I were a “Party Hardy! KInda Guy”, this would be a shot across the bows.

I’d cut back to having a couple of beers at a party after hearing about this story.

If I was the survivor of that event I’d sure think that. “Scared straight” so to speak.

Nearly everybody else in the USA? “Naah, it’ll never happen to me. I don’t get that f-ed up.” etc.

Aside:
Is it “party hardy” or “party hearty”? I always thought the latter, and at first look thought @digs had it wrong. But the more I think about this the less sure I am.

Anyone? Bueller?

Ummm, errr, clears throat, I’ll be right back.

Maybe it is invoking Andy Hardy – was he known for being a party animal?

I always assumed it was “hardy”, because I would party hardy or heartily, but not hearty.

It’s just a rhyming thing. Party hard became party hard-y.

I’d always understood it as “hearty”. FWIW, Google Ngrams shows “party hearty” has been used about twice as often as “party hardy” pretty consistently since the 1970s up to about 2010. After that, “hearty” has decreased somewhat but remains in the lead.

^^Yep.

Never heard “party hardy.” Sounds like you’re trying to party, but not quite getting there.

By the same rhyming logic “party heartily” degrades to “party hearty”.

However it’s spelled, it’s easier to say than ‘party your ass off.’

That’s party hardly

It’s partly hardy.

So, it concerns vegetation zones?

Regarding Andy Hardy, he most certainly never partied hearty, but his avatar, Mickey Rooney of the eight wives most certainly did. What a Looney Rooney.

If Andy Hardy is there, it’s hardly a party.
