I think it’s the syllable “do.” Do-do-doody-do-do. Am I the only one who works with preschoolers? because I gotta tell you, if they heard that, they would be screaming with laughter. It might as well be Crap-crap-crappy-crap-crap.
It sounded to me like placeholders that they used because they hadn’t written the lyrics yet. Like a ‘demo’ version.
What, was Mr Roper supposed to fix the cable?
Sorry, not seeing it.
It’s just a combination of the low production values and “Wish-dot-com” looking versions of DeWitt & Somers (from a modern eye used to seeing them in the roles). I don’t know if I would have jumped there on my own but it’s not mystifying to me why someone would see a parody resemblance.
Yeah, I apparently don’t watch the right kind of porn, because i didnt get the reference. I’m glad i found this thread, as i had no idea there were these two other intros. That second one is something else.
Don’t mean to pile on, but I’m not seeing it either. Now if it were done today, maybe. But despite being cheesy it seems an intro of it’s time.
I always thought it was hard on the beaver…
I’m sure they didn’t call him “The Beaver Cleaver” for nothing.
It depends on if she’s speaking jive that night.
I thought Chuck Connor was involved in actual gay porn. A quick Googling confirms that either him or some gifted impersonator was.
It’s possible but I’m highly skeptical. He was too busy playing pro sports and was not known to be gay.
Back then, sure. He’s now known for being gay and deeply closeted at the time — as you might expect.
Wasn’t everybody?

To me, this is porny to the extent that the entire 70’s decade scans as porny. Cheesy AV effects, cheesy music, cheesy costumes and styling, etc.
So it’s not specifically sexual per se but the production style is very much in line with the golden age of porn, simply because it was a product of that age.
