Thundercats 7/29

It wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be. In fact, it was pretty good. Anybody else watching?

Watched it and put it on the DVR to record.

It was good to me. It’s been forever since I could get into a cartoon that wasn’t some type of comedy show (Futurama, Archer etc.) and I thought they did it well. I liked the action element, I like that people (people…cats…) actually died.

Get’s a passing grade from me, although it will be interesting to see how they convert to a half hour.

Superb! I admit, I never watched the original show, but this one’s got me hooked at least.

Ran into it while channel-surfing, promptly got sucked in. Halfway through, Mr. Horseshoe and I looked at each other:
“Set to record? Series record? Yeah?”
" sigh… yeaaaah. Dammit."

I watched the original (ah, the Eighties!) and it brought back snarf!snarf! some memories. Actually, a lot of them. Don’t remember Cheetarah being that hot in the original, though. Neither does the Other Shoe, for that matter, and you’d think he’d be the expert…

I was afraid they’d screw it up - re-dos so often are messed up if you’re loyal to the original version. This was pretty faithful, though. And a few of the animations were definitely brought to you by people who love/study/watch cats … gorgeous feline movement. Thumbs up!

I had set the DVR for it Friday but my power went out…luckily it was on On Demand and I saw it. The animation style will take getting used to and I think Mum-Ra’s voice should be deeper but otherwise, I liked it quite a bit.

The idea that Thundara is a Cat empire and the “mutants” were its slaves was genius. Also making Liono and Tigra brothers and rivals was a good idea as well. I am looking forward to seeing where this is going.
