While I realize that SDSTAFFer Jill was just throwing in an offhand joke in her mailbag response about ticks, the historical accuracy of her comment about Buddhist monks setting themselves on fire to protest the war is questionable. Actually, the monks were practicing (perfecting?) self-immolation to protest Ngo Dinh Diem’s attempts to force a largely Buddhist country to obey Catholic laws.
A small thing, but accuracy is everything!
